Changing wheels 2010 GT?

So finally ford has put out the 18" gt500 wheels for a reasonable price. I wanted to pick them up can i simply just swap over the valve stems that have the TPMS stuff and call it a day? The tire sizes will be basically the same overall height so the speedo will be fine. thank you for all the replies in advance

Mike

Definitely post pics. I prefer the 19" GT500 wheels but they are too expensive. They should look great.

How much is Ford asking? The 18" GT500 wheels are all over eBay and have been for quite some time.

Not bad at all. I see these are cast. The (expensive) 19's are forged correct?

ALL the oem Ford wheels are cast except the SVTPP.

Quite a few aftermarket wheels are forged and they generally are more expensive.

Where did you get that those wheels are forged?

I'd be about willing to bet money that they are cast too.

Look at the ESource here https://themustangsource.com/f767/20...source-482924/ (the wheels are on pg 56)

Good thing we didn't bet

Well, I think we all know that just because Ford has printed it out in a document doesn't mean it is so. They have made plenty of incorrect statements and typo's before.

I just don't see two wheels of the same design, one 18" and another 19", and one being cast and the other forged. That just doesn't make any sense.

Well if it helps, its not just in that document. Ford has been saying the 19's for the GT500 were forged and the 18's were cast since the 2010 GT500 was unveiled.

I'd have to see the back side of one, then you could tell.

It makes since that they are forged. That's why they are so much more expensive than the 18's

Nah, they're dumping the 18's because they aren't going to use them on new GT500's any more.

Someone in the GT500 section should be able to provide a pic pretty easily
