Changed my rear axle lubricant.
Had some extra time on my hands and decided to change my rear end oil on my 2011 V-6 with 3.31 ratio. It has 7,500 miles. The owners manual says the V-6 rear end holds 1.5L and the G.T. holds 2.0L. This isn't true, my V-6 held 4oz of friction modifier plus 2 1/3 quarts of 75W-140 rear axle lub. I used the factory Motorcraft synthetic axle lub i bought from my dealer.
The old oil was grayish black and you could see little sparkles of brass in the sunlight. The magnetic fill plug had a lot of fine metal particles stuck to it.
Its easy to do. You can go to youtube and search, how to change rear end oil.
