catch can update
I was detailing my '14 5.0 and decide to drain my catch can after 2000 miles. I wasnt expecting much oil if any but was really surprised on the outcome. This is a dixie cup and I would say its about 1/4 to 1/3 full. The catch can is a bobs oil seperator on the passanger side only. Here are some pictures to show how much was caught.

****, thats alot compared to what I would think should be in there after 2k miles. I'm glad I ordered one ahead of my car getting delievered. I wonder if that much will be in there on my V6?

Hmm idk about the v6. I was surprised to but I guess its better in the catch can then the engine. I didnt even really get on it much until I had about 1500 miles on it.

Necessary? Who knows. Does it catch oil that would otherwise be in the engine. Yes, as it should. would the engine suffer and lose longivity? only time will tell. But it is doing it's job exceptionally well, I couldn't ask for more.

I think more people have the JLT simply because American muscle carries it and the AM site sees a lot more traffic than bob's website. Besides that, both are the same price.

Yeah over on svtperformance most of the gt500 guys r running the bobs oil seperator. Plus, I really liked the carbon fiber finish.
