carbon ceramic rotors
Take a look at these guys, i feel like they may be either a great product or complete rip off:
http://www.turbinebrakerotors.com/ceramic_rotors.php
As far as I know they are the only Carbon Ceramic Rotors available for our cars, as you know alot of high end porsches, and ferrari's use the carbon ceramic rotors because they, along with ceramic brake pads, feel almost 0 brake fade after hard braking.
These have a very odd design that I am not sure about, I feel like once you hit what looks like rivets holding the plates to the "turbine" inside it would completely fall apart and most likely cause major damage to your calipers.
Let me know what you guys think.
Below is an email i received from them after I inquired about the product:
Thanks for taking the time to contact Turbine Rotors.
Our introductory direct website pricing will be $699.99 for the complete
rotor and hat combination until Jan 1st 2013. The pricing will increase to
$799.99 in 2013 when we move to a distributor model and they add their
distributor margin.
Our custom pad formulation pricing is as follows: street-$200 per axle set
and
Track/race $250 per axle set. As your aware, this carbon ceramic material
is extremely hard and different formulations are required to deal with the
hardness to produce proper co-efficient of friction for both street and
track
applications.
If you check the pricing of the competition such as Brembo or Performance
Friction their rotors are in the $2500-$4000 per rotor.
I hope this answers your question. Feel free to email me if you have other
questions.
