Car finally paid off

So I finally reached the 60 month mark and now have my car paid off. Will be nice not to have another car payment for awhile.

Well done! How many miles?

You've got a 4.6L...so is it safe to say that it has been utterly trouble free, torquey and wonderful sounding for every mile?

I miss my 4.6L 2009....of course it wasn't as fast as the Coyote but that is a really nice motor and it sounds way better than the 5.0L

Thanks guys, yeah my main regret was not buying my same car but an 11 instead of a 10 GT. At the time I was about to pull the trigger on an 11 v6 but my order was taking almost four months to get in and once I drove the 10 GT I was hooked on the growl when I first started the car up and then my first mash on the accelerator sold me on the 10. I know the 11 v6 is comparable on paper to the ten but the ten felt a lot faster. Had I taken a little while longer I would have probably caved in and bought an 11 GT. But I knew the 4.6 was a good motor and coming from an 05 accord 4 banger the mustang felt like a rocket. My car currently only has 10K miles on the odometer and she is garaged. I drive her on sunny days and always love the looks I get in the car.

Congrats! Awesome feeling, isn't it?

I bought mine with a 72 month used car loan just this past April (interest rate was only .25% higher than 60 month anyhow), so I have some waiting to do. The good news is, I've been sending bi-weekly payments (for more than 1/2 the monthly payment would be) instead of just the monthly, so I should be paid off in 52 more months. Faster if I put my tax returns towards principal payments, instead of mods...so probably paid off in 52 more months

I'd probably have it paid off in less than 24 months if I didn't keep seeing parts I want and compulsively clicking the "add to cart" and "check out now" buttons...

Congrats, I hope to have mine pay off in another year and half. It's a great feeling when the car is completely yours.

Thanks again guys, it will be nice to start saving a little extra gold for mods for my car or for my new house. I am not too big on the current gen mustang and really love my GT and don't want to part with her for now. Funny thing is the ford dealership I bought my car new from in 2010 is starting to call me asking if I would be intersted in a trade. I just say no thanks.

Good for you. I like the new Mustangs a lot, but not enough that I'd ever trade my S197 in for one. It's not even that I like S197's THAT much more than the new 2015 body style, it's just that I can't justify spending $40k+ on a new car when the one I already have is awesome, and costs me 1/2 what the '15 would. Leaves a lot more money for mods. Even if I never hit the HP numbers the '15 has with full bolt-ons, I'd feel incomplete being stuck with a bone-stock '15. I never feel like a car is truly mine, paid off or not, until it's been modded MY way.

You have a rare thing. A really beautiful Mustang that's 100% yours, and the extra cash now to play with it however you want, if you want. I wouldn't trade in, either, were I you, unless there was something significantly wrong with it.
