When did a stock SS get a 12.5 or 12.6?

 

Why do you guys care if it is faster than the Camaro? I don't. I buy Mustangs because are they better, more feature rich cars. If someone elses car is a few tenths faster, big deal.

The camaro with its 6.2 is obviously faster than us in a str8 line.

 

I am not sure where the C5 bashing came from, kind of odd.

Regardless, the magazine is apparently filled with pictures of the cars side-by-side, so I imagine that they tested them together. Anyways, that's why I am interested in further magazine times.

 

I'm sure the cars were driven together, though I doubt they were "tested" together. 13.2 1/4 time is the exact same time recorded as the previous 'Car and Driver Short Take Road Test' that was performed in March. Therefore, they most likely utilized the times recorded in the cars' previous tests. Car and Driver is notorious for pulling this ****; they did the same thing when comparing the BMW M3 to the Lexus IS-F.

Mustang should be similar, the trap speeds are way to close.

Mid 12's are expected from these cars. If I can do 12.8 with only 106mph, the new 5.0 is capable of solid mid 12's at 110 mph+

Rag racing isn't enough to get us worked up, at the track is where we prove ourselves.

 

My buddy ripped off a 13.3 in a stock 2005 Mustang GT with 3.55 gears which were standard that year.

 

Car and driver does photoshop though. The Bowtie boys went nuts when C&D showed a BMW suv
beating a Chevy drag car in the 1/4 mile. The mag admitted the photo was created.
