The car and chase that made me look at a GT

After watching this movie, "Drive", I test drove a black GT while my truck was getting serviced. Sold me on it. I didn't have quite as much fun as ryan gosling did in the scene but it was still awesome.

AND i love how he dusted the 300c

Don't think it would be that hard to "dust" a 300C. Fun fact about the movie, the Impala or whatever is in the very first scene that was upgraded and what not, the sound of the engine is actually rocks in a mixer run through filters.

I really do think Drive is a superb........and very underrated film. The soundtrack is brilliant.

As for the Mustang? Yep, nice chase scene. Pity it got trashed, but then 99% of nice cars get trashed in Hollywood movies

Need to watch that - my neighbor just saw it and liked it. And he's not much of a car guy.

great movie, i'm a big fan of most of refn's films. ford did a good job with their product placement getting the 5.0 in there. my car was bone stock at the time so it was nice to walk out to the EXACT same car in the parking lot when the movie was done .

This is a very good chase. I'm a bit older than most of you, and the chase scene that got me wanting a Mustang was with Steve McQueen in "Bullitt". If you haven't seen that one, give her a look. It's all the cars, and drivers. Back then there was no computers to do the work for them.

The TV series "Alcatraz" even did a remake of the "Bullitt" chase with a new Mustang, and Charger a couple years ago. That was a great chase scene also.

I never saw that before. Thanks for sharing. That was friggen awesome!!!!!

Could you really do that with a manual trans? Swing it around like that and not even miss a beat? Wouldn't it just tell you to go F yourself?

Don't think you could do it with an auto, see if they have videos on how to do a J turn.

That J turn ruined it for me. So pointless. I liked the end though, seeing the c300 wreck through the back window. I haven't seen the movie and this chase scene does not inspire me to.

Based on that clip alone, I can understand your apprehension. No shot in hell a 300C would even have the opportunity to get that close to a GT in a chase. But, in the context of the film, the scene works. It's not a fast and furious type action movie. Drive is the rare studio film where a gifted indie director gets a decent budget and an A-list cast to work with. The results were understated but amazing none the less. Check the reviews, 93% of rottentomatoes.com which is virtually impossible. Definitely one of my favorite movies in the past few years.

Yeah... Driving in reverse made me just think... why? lol
Now that remake of the Bullit scene... yeah... that may be partially why i'm getting a new one. lol
But of course you can't beat the re-made Gone in Sixty Seconds scene! (besides the jump)
