Why?

The 2011's are just now getting ready to move in to Job 2. There was a post about the final ordering dates for the 2011's and then when the ordering will open up for the 2012's. I'm not going hunting but this detail OP is wrong like the others have said. More than likely what was said about the GT500's.

it is impossible. job2 doesn't start and ford stops taking order? there must be some miscommunication.

ordered one yesterday, unfortunately the allocations are a problem now that the retail order verification process has ended.

I'd like to understand what this means. How does this affect the person who just ordered their car.

I thought "allocations" were for dealers ordering for lot-stock, not for individual customer orders?

They are cutting off the 2011 5.0 GT500 at 5,000 units. If you didn't order before all 5,000 were spoken for, then your not getting on until one is for sale used. it was annouced 2 weeks ago.

If your trying to do a custom order on a normal GT or V6 and they are telling you there not taking any orders atm. Think about it. Its because so many people have put in custom orders on top of the thousands of dealers. The assembly line can only produce so many at once.

Ford will re open and re close custom orders off and on for the next 6 months until things slow down for them. Remember Ford is one of the top selling companies in the world. They are busy

Until recently we could sell all the Mustangs we wanted and Ford would buils as many as we sold regardless of our available allocation. Now that the ROVP has ended they will only build as many Mustangs as we have earned through our allocation, regardless if they are sold orders or stock inventory orders. If you earned 5 and sold 6, customer number 6 doesn't get scheduled until the following month when additional allocation becomes available.
