Canceling Extended Warranty?

Canceling Extended Warranty?
I've had my car for a 10 months now - when I originally purchased it, I didn't quite have the mod bug, but now it's bit me and I can't shake it (nor do I have any desire too ). I purchased the extended warranty, but obviously I've long voided my warranty (and certainly will continue to do so when I go FI ) - so with that said, has anyone had any luck cancelling their extended warranty? If so, what methods did you go by and did the cancellation affect your note? Thanks.

did you purchase it through the dealership Im assuming? if yes, you go to the dealership (the car has to be present for proof of mileage) tell them you want to canel the extended warranty, theyll look at the odometer mileage to determine the amount of the refund, usually takes about 4 weeks to receive a check, or if still making payments, the refund will go to the bank which you financed through

Like mentioned above, unless the car is paid off, you won't see a dime if you cancel the warranty. They payment will go directly to the lien holder and your monthly payment amount will not be affected.

Call Ford Customer Service and speak with them.

Ultimately the warranty cancellation is processed by the dealer that sold it.
I sold my 2010 Focus at the end of 2014, car was almost 5 years old at the time with 38-39k miles on it, I don't remember if I had a 5-yr or a 6-yr warranty on it, but I got back about $300
