I highly doubt that when you take the car to Crappy Tire for the look over they will 1. Even notice that the fogs are DRL 2. Know about the LED rule.

I am very respectful and firm....they just have to understand that when you change something from what you falsely advertised from a atheistic prospective you have to upgrade it, not downgrade it. The v6 chrome grille is a downgrade in cost for sure on the gt , I'm sure they are saving $100-$200 per CDN car....if they want to save money, their Sr management team should take the hair cut, not their client base spending thousands of dollars.

To me this is not different that ordering a medium rare steak at a restaurant and they bring you a medium well done steak. I (we) all work hard for our money, and when we spend it, it should be the way we were promised....if not, upgrade it to make up the disappointment. It's time everyone take responsibility , mistakes and changes happen , it's how you resolve that is the key.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Should of done the research to make sure what you were getting was what you wanted. Once again, it takes about 120$ in the aftermarket to get those fog lights in the grille how you want them. If thats worth canceling your order then fine...

for yrs CDN has been getting fog lights in the grille - the 2013, all of sudden they are deleted in the grille - if you have some way of knowing this before the car is ordered, i would love to hear it for my next go round.

ANd , why should i (or anyone) have to spend an extra $120 for a grille on a picture that was advertised by the, plus the car they presented at the auto show ? THey should pony up this - not the buyer.

Even the cars at the Canadian International Autoshow had the fogs.

Even the Ford.ca website still shows the fogs, BUT says 'vehicles may not be exactly as shown.

I'm not suprised that people are complaining.

Completely your decision (if you can get your downpayment back) but seems like cutting off your nose despite your face. Youre going to have to wait a lot longer with a new order from another dealer or have to take a stock order and, if youre this upset about fogs, you probably wont be happy with that either. If your dealer does nothing for you to make up for not knowing the product theyre selling, dont do business with them anymore and tell them that...after you pick up your car. Theyll look stupid, youll look like the bigger man, theyll maybe learn a lesson and youll get your car. You can get OEM US parts to make it look like you want. Theres no way in he|| Id refuse my car if it came with no fogs. Its more akin to ordering a steak dinner and not getting butter on your potato IMHO. I wouldnt walk out of the restaurant. Id ask for butter and if I didnt get it, Id get butter elsewhere and just not go back.

I would just add the Boss grill. But then again I agree the V6 '13 doesn't catch my eye like the GT would. I thought it was the hood tho that I notice.

As they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I ordered a 2013 V6 Premium rather than a GT because I did not like the look of the grill mounted fogs.

Advertising is just that....advertising.....and you need to check what you are getting before the final signing is done.

or.. false advertizing is false advertizing. and an 89¢ burger doesn't exactly compare to a $40,000 car

this looks like total garbage..

and nowhere does it say that it would come that way in canada, especially since the gt's all had grille fogs until this year & the website ford.ca shows them w/ fogs

....advertising has not been truthful in many ways for years........burger, car, or house......makes no difference on value.....know what you are buying.....

Just wondering what the Canadian Ford dealer brochures show......

I should not have to try and upgrade to a cs grille...they should be offering the boss/cs grille to 5.0 owners at no charge ..... Not the other way around.

I guess this is the world we live in, you pay for a steak, and then find out you have ground chuck.
BigR, I understand your frustration. But if I understand correctly from your first post this fog light deal is because of Canadian Law. If so, that's not Ford's fault. Heck, if Mr. Obama had it his way the U.S. Mustangs would be hybrids. I would think if it's been a short time since order, something could be done. Good luck.

Does the Canadian GT's have any fog lights?

I'm genuinely curious to know what additional research a reasonable person could have done to determine that the appearance of the car was changed for Canadian customers? The gallery at Ford Canada's website shows the GT with fogs in the grille. Also, Ford Canada's marketing video below has the fogs in the grille. From my understanding, it was not general public knowledge that the appearance of the Canadian GTs was modified until the cars started arriving on dealers' lots.

They illustrated a car much different throughout Canada car shows for 2013, and the 2012 had fogs in the grille, what we are getting does not represent what they were showing...therefore, contract is null and void.
They need to realize that this is not moving an ashtray from the left side,to te right side of a counsel ....this is a drastic physical change of a car, that they falsely advertised here in Canada.
Hello BigR,

I understand your frustration. At this time, I recommend you contact Ford of Canada at 1-800-565-3673 regarding your order concerns. They will be able to guide you in the right direction.

Maybe Ford didn't know about this change until 2013 production started since you all say that 2012's had US spec GT fog lights that were fine in Canada???
------------------------------------------------------------------
It kind of seems that some official in Canada caught the "fogs" at the last minute and Ford was forced to make a quick decision....so they chose the "lower fogs" and a chrome rimmed V6 grille to resolve the issue with a new Candian Law.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I agree it really sucks for anyone who ordered a GT in Canada but received a car they did not want.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Ford needs to do something very soon to resolve this issue, as for your car BigR....I can't believe your dealer hasn't offered to replace your grille with a US spec GT grille.

Man, reading that the Canadian GTs were now coming with the V6-like grill instead of having those big round headlights was the best news I had all week. I know everyone has an opinion and none carry more weight than any other but for me the V6 grill says classic Mustang. The bulbous round light grill screams insectoid (although I'm fully familiar with its history).

Well, I have two things to add to this thread. First, an opinion, and then a suggestion...

First, I think the GT foglamps look bad in the grill on the '13's. Just my personal opinion. I think the GT/CS looks much better. I didn't like the big foglamps in the grill of the 05-09's, either, so I swapped in a Pony Package grill in my '07 GT. I'm still trying to decide if I'll keep the big fogs in my '11 GT, or replace them with the Boss grill and GT/CS lower valance.

Second, I work for a Ford dealership that happily refunds deposits on special orders any time, for any reason. I would guess that most dealers will promptly refund a deposit to make a customer happy, as well. So, the OP should simply ask his ordering dealer for his deposit back before ranting here any further. If they refuse, then continue ranting and we'll be on your side.

Yes, ford was made to make this change because of Canada law....we as canadians get that ..... But ....Ford, having to take care of there clients should have given the option to either the v6,or the boss grille....IF, they would have swapped the boss grille, I would bet, there would be zero complaints for the grille...and threads like this for Canadian owners would not exist......going v6 look gives the impression that they are downgrading the car...especially since all past gt cars had the fogs in the grille...at least the boss grille has the cut out to resemble the gt fogs.

Yes, Some will suggest that boss owners in Canada maybe out of joint with this, but given the boss exclusivity, there would be far less owners in the boss world upset, than gt owners because there car now looks like the v6 with that chrome wrap around grille. As a matter of fact, there are still many 2012 boss stuck in dealer showrooms in Toronto...therefore, almost zero effect for 2013 owners...and the gt is the mainstream selling car anywAy.....for ford, I can't help but think, they went v6 grille to save another $80 on the car....laughing and thinking, it's ok.... ANd that's the part that is annoying.

I called ford Canada today, and tried to escalate, and they suggested I need to go to my dealer....they said, they have the right change the ad for Canada, and it's there position that we go back to the store....and I said, then I have a right to get my money back as well.....she did not agree, or disagree, she kept her company line that I had to deal with the dealer.

I showed the dealer the pics of what is coming to Canada....they were surprised , and not aware. I had advised them, that my car will now be here in 2 weeks, and if it comes with this v6 grille ...I will not accept delivery. I advised them via email, that I want my 2k back...they said they are working one solution ( don't know what that means yet)

I have purchased , this being my 3 rd vehicle with this rep and dealership....I have asked for my deposit back because of this change in front end style .... I have yet to hear from them regarding this.

Right now the rant shall continue....and frankly , this has made my 11 week waiting for my new car to enjoy the summer with the top down with my family Abit sour.

It's Easter weekend starting now, and the dealership will be closed , but on Monday I plan to talk to them and ask for my $2k on my CC - we will see how that turns out.

If I saw this car like, I would have never purchased it, and going cs style does not appeal to me , that's why I didn't order it

Believe it or not, I'm not upset....I'm just very saddened, and disappointed....as I would rather have the car the way I ordered it and pics seen.
