I noticed that, too. The more I see, the more I like.

Looks pretty good for a refresh I'd say. With the interior updates and tapering the body and new wheels etc... but I still don't see the difference in the hips. My 05 has a slight hip already back by the rear side window. The hood does look tapered off a little but that isnt what I would consider hips, Also I thought the turn signal was moved to the inside of the headlight? The front lower valance still has the turn signal in it? Cant wait for the LA Auto show now!

Same here but the rear on the current Stang isn't it's strongest point either. I'm warming up to the entire package though. Can't wait to see it without the cow stickers on it.

I love how the fogs don't appear completely round… like there's a bit of a "brow" at the top. Similar to the headlamps on the Challenger, but much more aggressive looking.

The more i see the more i get a Euro feel for it than a muscle car vibe. It seems like it is taking on more of a Toyota feeling. I guess it is really tough with the camo to really get a feel for it.

Feels like it's going to be a lot more sculpted and curvaceous than the current design, while at the same time more angular.

Don't ask me how that's even possible, but that's the best way I can describe it.

The current rear is my least favorite part of the car,i especially dislike the tacked on spoiler,it never fit the rest of the car. I always prefered the flat-type spoiler on the V6 Pony or spoiler delete. I like how the new rear has the bottom diffuser-type style like on the Shelbys and the GT/CS. The Camaro has this as well, and if it dulls after awhile, well, back to black works awesome on stuff like this.

The more I see these pics and get a feel for how the black grille surround and lower pieces contrast with the rest of the body, the more I think they really need to bring back Legend Lime. What a great color that would be on the new GT.

The 05 does not have any hip at all, the body line is completely straight.

The bulge in the front of the hood looks fantastic. This car is going to look so much more finished and put together than the previous generation. All the lines are tweaked JUST enough.

I gotta say, after looking at the shots again, this one especially you can see how much "lighter" and more "athletic" appearing the car is. The flat black bottom of the car really blends in to the shadows and gives the car a much more dramatic and flowing appearance. Kudos to the Ford designers for accomplishing what they set out to do, even if the car really looks lighter in the shadows.

I think we would all rather them just REDUCE the weight, rather than spend all this time making the car LOOK lighter, while saving money in unpainted grilles, sideskirts and rear bumpers.

I also think the rearview camera in the spoiler would have been a bit less intrusive if they put the round lens in a square/rectangle housing that was flush with the spoiler, instead of the little round bubble that sticks out. Or maybe integrated it with the 3rd brakelight.

They probably had a limited budget to work with, and trying to reduce weight from an existing platform probably would have cost a lot more than Ford could afford right now.

Not only that, but most things that they have changed, were in place long before the current gas crisis. Therefore that wasnt seen as a necessary thing to do.

Thats one of the things I don't like. I think it looks like they put the currant Fog lamp into the new Bezzel and they didn't fit. Almost like an after thought. Oh Well that's why they make options and differant packages, Not everyone likes the samething.
