Someone posted the video of the drag race between the 5.0 and the SS. Now everyone on Camaro 5 is calling the video a fake, BS, staged Mustang event. And then of course they all revert back to the "yeah, but the stang is ugly" argument. Always good for some chuckles.

The Camaro forum people seem a lot more angry than Mustang folks in general

 

Saw a bright red SS the the other morning all cleaned up, and while I still don't like it, I gotta admit it looked a lot better than the pictures do. At first glance the seats looked better than the Ford.

I was trying to not be obvious about looking at it, but I was driving the Taurus... and they were checking it out just as sneakily. Still a whole lots of folks around here that haven't seen a Taurus.

 

well its all good. as soon as you play "man wait till i put xxx and yyy mods on" ill beat you. you sound like a ricer makeing excuses. ive been beat many times in my stang(i had a 98 gt vert) and i dont play that game or the coulda shoulda or your car is "ugly" i just give the repsect and move on.

 

is the rear end all everyone ever comes up with still? if its that ugly then i guess they'll be vomiting in their Camaro's since thats all their gonna see is the Mustangs "ugly" rear end..

 

They can kvetch all they like, as long as they don't hack and crash this site again.

 

The Camaro's rear end won't be winning any beauty contests, either.

And, IMO, the new Mustang's seats are far superior to the Camaro's.

 

 

Well, I got a surprise yesterday (I don't think much of the Camaro's looks): My wife sees a row of Camaros at 100 yards and says, "Say, it kinda looks like a Mustang." Now there wasn't a Mustang in sight, and maybe my wife needed to see the two side by side, but none-the-less, she said it. Sort of like saying that Joy Behar looks kinda like Tanith Belbin.

 

I was in riding in my dad's truck one day and we passed a Camaro and he said "Is that the new Mustang?"

I'm not registered on that site and don't really care to be, but ****, those guys just don't get it.

Of course it is a Ford staged event but it's not Ford drivers in the cars, just knuckleheaded magazine journalists.

What I don't understand is they keep talking about big changes for the 2011 Camaro.
The car just came out last year. What big changes can GM afford?

 

It's like the GTO all over again after the debut of the 2005 Mustang GT. Oops! Thinking gears and ECU tweaking, tops.

 

From what I can tell it's a fanboy forum. I do love how the GT500 is only 1 tenth faster than an SS. I don't even know where they're getting that from. Hint, hint Camaro5, it's an 11 second car, it would rape an SS. That's a fact. Oh yeah, the 2011 model weighs less too.

There's got to be better Camaro forums than that. That one seems way too childish to be taken seriously. I guess it's good for laughs.

When I showed my wife this thread, she justified what she had said saying, "But it was dark out." So I forgave her.

 

I will give the Camaro guys one thing, the guy driving the Camaro during the drag race must have been texting his girlfriend or something because the Mustang had a huge hole shot that would have been impossible to overcome unless he could hit a 150 shot of nitrous or something.

I would love to have the 2011 motor and drivetrain in my car but I'll still no lover of the 2010 body changes.
