A/C goes zombie after full throttle run
OK, two long distance trips in a month (800+ miles each way) and each time the A/C quit working on the outbound trip. It almost always followed a full throttle (WOT) run that "disables" the A/C which makes me think it's the WOT relay/circuit. Each time, I let the car sit for more than 5 minutes (less than 40) and it was fine after that.
I can't really take it in for service and say, "Hey, my A/C didn't work... 2 days ago." The tech will surely say, "Unable to duplicate problem."
The weird part is inside the fan doesn't seem to blow THROUGH the vents. But it does seem to blow if I adjust the fan speed. Just no air coming out.
Anyone else have a zombie-like air conditioner? Alive but dead.

You can complain about it here with no hope of it magically fixing itself, or take it to your Ford dealer. Take your pick

The WOT cutout is normal, but it should come back on instantly after the run. My guess would be an issue in the relay swith for the cutout or even your E.P. because it is actually your control center and may not be sending out the right signals. Best of luck. Contact your local ford service dept.

Shaun, yeah. I'd love to take you up on the offer when I'm in the DTW area for more than 30 minutes. I'll be up that way again Labor Day weekend.
Yeah, I know. But it's not normal or it to NOT come back on.
And what do you propose the tech actually do?
Right on. If it's the EP that would suck but I'm thinking stuck relay. I just need to find the relay. I guarantee the tech will say, "unable to duplicate." It only seems to do it on long trips.

Off topic, I know, but why do I keep hearing people say this? Several have said they will wait a few years and get a 5.0 at close to 50-30% off... 2006 GTs are still near $20K and several are listed for more. These mustangs, especially the new 5.0s, are really holding their values. In two years MAYBE around $25k-$26k depending on mileage. JMO.

An asking price is just that. If they ask 20K, tell them 16K and you will buy it.
The worst they can say is no.
My latest 2007 Mustang, I offered below KBB trade in for it. I didn't care what they were asking.
The salesman said NO WAY, but his manager wanted to push out another car for the month.
It can happen. I know. I got it for below KBB trade in value.

Follow the service manual, look for anything out of the ordinary, check for loose connections
I know the dealer is going to say there's not much they can do if it's operating correctly, but at least it would be documented that something is wrong. If it keeps happening and you keep taking it back to them eventually I think they'll figure out the problem... maybe.
