Built Eaton L Vs Stock 5.0 Daytime footage
YouTube- Lightning vs 2011 5.0
YouTube- Lightning vs 2011 5.0
And just because I know it will be asked The first run was from 30 in 2nd gear. Second run was from 40 in 3rd. The car doesnt like rolls from 40 in 3rd.
Mods on the L
forged 9.6:1 comp, ported heads, stock cams, long-tubes, intake, valve body, still on the ported Eaton though.

Seems like a Lightning built as described, "2003 Ford Lightning ** 6xxhp & 6xxtq Built motor - Whipple - Heads - Cams" should have pulled harder than it seemed to in the vids. Very few cars/trucks pull from a 30 or 40 punch like a Gen2 Lightning, that one seemed kind of weak, must have been holding back to keep from totally anhilating the Mustang.

I have a feeling the Whipplecharged L you describe above would completely annihilate a stock 5.0L Mustang... and a stock Camaro SS and a stock Challenger SRT8, and just about anything else on the road.

40 in 3rd sounds like 1900 rpm. I could be wrong.
But the few miles I've driven my 5.0, I know it needs revs.
What's the top speed in 2nd gear with 3.73? Might be the better gear for 30 and 40 roll. That lightning (any lightning) is sweet though.
Go ford!

Id have to test it out to be 100% accurate but IIRC 40 in 3rd is about 3000rpms and 40 in 2nd is around 5000rpms. Last time I race from 40 in 2nd I had to shift really quickly after the hit.

Yeah, I think that would have been better.. in my 2008, if I'll go into 2nd gear for anything under 55-60mph.. (and shift at 65-70) even if you do shift, you still get launched forward really hard for the remainder of 2nd gear, which I think more than makes up for shifting.

Yours or whoevers Lightning it was, whatever constitutes a "built eaton", it should have pulled harder than it did.
I had a '99 Lightning with a stock eaton, pullied, and it would have anihilated the Mustang from a 30 or 40 roll a lot more than that one did.
I stand by my original post.

The L has a built forged block with 9.6:1 compression, CNC'd heads, stock cams, CAI, Tune, ported Eaton, 8# lower, ported lower intake and headers.

You are a moron and have no idea what your talking about. Congrats you had a L 11 years ago that was almost stock lol. I currently have one that would blow away both the truck and the 5.0 in this vid. Both the L and the 5.0 in this vid would have blown your almost stock L away. You dont even understand what a Built Eaton L is.
