Build Time
Build Time
So my car has just been scheduled to be built on the 7th. Does anyone know how long the process takes for the car to be built? Cant be more than a few days right? With assembly lines and everything.
Thanks in advance for any info

It will be there soon. Just calm down and try not to focus on it for a while.
I have not though much about mine since I ordered it, which took about 6 months to determine what I wanted. Have not thought about it for 3+ weeks. Maybe I need to check in to see if I even have an ETA yet...

ok well i emailed ford yesterday and got an answer today:
"The build date of a vehicle is when the vehicle was produced (completed). There are a great number of variables that may affect production scheduling and delivery:
• Option packages
• Special powertrain combinations
• Delivery delays of components
• Certification and quality inspections
• Transportation of the vehicle to the specified dealership
As such, it is not possible to provide a specific timeframe. Your sales representative at your selling dealership is in the best position to track your vehicle order.
Thank you for contacting Ford."

A typical Mustang is on the assembly line for 32 hours, FYI. If Ford is running all 3 shifts per day, then it is done in about a day and a half. If Ford is not running evening/overtime shifts, then it could take two full days or maybe into the third day.
