Brembo's w/stock pads have no bite?

I have ~650 miles on the car, and I will admit I have not bedded the brakes in yet. I have just been driving normally...

That said, the Brembo's feel like there is very little bite with the OEM pads. I mashed the pedal the other day to try to engage ABS and it really didn't stop that hard. Also the pedal was depressed too much to support heel toe shifting when I tried to stop very hard

Wondering if anyone else has felt the same? I'm bringing the car in on Thursday to have the wheels re-balanced, since it has a small vibration on the highway and I found a wheel weight in my driveway over the weekend. Probably will ask about the brakes too, and maybe take out another car while I'm waiting that has the Brembo package to see if it feels the same.

They just need to be bedded in properly and the stopping power will come back.

I have to agree. First time I really got on the binders I was amazed to say the least.

The Brembos on my '12 feel just the way they are supposed to and have since I got the car. I've had 2000 Cobra R brembos on my '97 for a dozen+ years now so I think I would have noticed if something wasn't right. I would assume that the stock pads are brembo pads. I haven't looked or checked but the '12 feels like it has brembo pads in it, and the dust of brembo pads too. Just feel from past experience with different pads.

Thanks for the feedback, I need to get out and bed the pads soon to see if that fixes issue. I have some nice Pagid pads headed my way too so if the Brembo pads just don't cut it for the street the Pagids should definitely do the trick

Do not mean to hijack the thread by anymeans but while we are on the subject of brembos do your squeak whenever you dont break hard? I usually downshift when approaching a light or stop sign so i can save some wear on my breaks but when i break lightly they squeak. I only have 2500 miles on the car. Is that a normal characteristic of the brembo breaks?

Squeaking probably indicates you need to re-bed the brakes too. More aggressive pads will often make more noise, but re-bedding can help.

Mine don't make a peep, but also don't stop particularly well at the moment.

I am still running the stock pads from the track pack. What does rebedding mean and how can it be done?

I notice on mine that they don't have a lot of bite when they're cold. They're still acceptable, but they get much more grabby once they have some heat in them.

I could be wrong but I thought the Track Package came with different pad material than a BBP car. These pads are probably meant to work at a higher temp to prevent brake fade on track, which makes them a little less responsive on the street when cold.

Yeah i forgot to mention i have a TP car with the brembo breaks up front, idk if thats different. They also squeal when I gently apply the breaks, however, if i break harder they dont sequel.

Squeaks on light braking can occasionally happen. If they are happening a lot then it's either due to the compound of the pads, the pad design, or how they were bedded in. This is just from my experience over the years.

Exactly! My brembos squeak when cold and goes away once it heats up. You have to live with a little squeaking here and there. Just part of having better brakes. Listen to a Ferrari, Aston Martin or Lamborghini, they all squeak when they brake.

Brakes have started feeling better the past couple days. I got my speed bleeder nipples too so I can bleed the system and put in my good fluid. I think it was just the material transfer to the rotors was happening very slowly cause I didn't really bed the pad
