I think he knows that we've established they're all single-piston, Sam; I think he was checking the rest of the supension for differences.

You get different tuning and pads with the V6PP.

TBH, I can understand why Ford doesn't do it -- A V6 to GT upgrade is a $5-9000 (US-Canada) upcharge ie more profit. That would be like giving away the cow with the milk if you made every GT option available on the V6

I know that. I was checking on other upgrades like the lower control arms.

I believe the topic was "what EXACTLY comes in the Brembo package." OP is looking for confirmation that the suspension is upgraded in addition to the brakes. Everyone has pretty much known since the package first came out that the rears are not single piston.

This would add considerable cost and weight and part content.

So long as they can get acceptable braking performance from the current single piston design Ford will have no incentive to move to the more costly seperate parking brake to allow for the multi-piston calipers.
The caveat being, if there was a market(read: enough people willing to pay)for twin piston calipers Ford would most certainly engineer such a system. However as you note such a system would be pretty pricey and I doubt most people would spring for it.

That said, Ford could do much to imporve the appearence of the base brakes overall. The SN95/New Edge cars used PBR brakes and they had a much better finished appearence compared to the TRW components used now which IMO looks like they hired a 5 year old kid to design them using a dull chisel and a block of hard clay.

Also, the 19s vs the 18s DO add a strut brace, perhaps it's ordering ANY 19 inch wheels that also include the different shocks/springs. Like i said, until FORD says so, the Brembo package BS-O-Meter just keeps growing.

But by all means, prove me wrong...PLEASE. It will make my decision to Brembo or not very easy. But heresay, conjecture, and butt dynos aren't doing it for me. The mustang forums are PACKED with threads that start out with "THERE IS DEFINITELY A DIFFERENCE" and 500 posts later, end with "hmm, maybe there's a difference".

Why is there no Ford documentation that says...Brembo package includes XYZ suspension changes?
Sam Strano confirms that there are numerous differences in the suspension bits on the brembo pack. GT500 LCA's are confirmed.

Where? All i see him talking about is replacing everything the car comes with anyway.

Again, where is the FORD documentation? And why wouldn't FORD come out and say what the differences are? Do you think they are deliberately hiding that information? Or could it be the altered parts did not make a big enough difference for them to hype it? The whole situation seems fishy.

Yes they are upgraded... but they are still stamped and rubber bushed for NVH. Heavier than the older cars, but still not aftermarket arms. As for are the Brembo cars different with regard to arms, not that I can find other than color.

So we're right back to square one. The Brembo cars have the exact same suspension as the non-brembo cars. Like i said earlier, this is how EVERY thread on Brembo package suspension differences ends.

checked it out there is no suspension differences visually between the GT with the Brembo or without.

Also checked the GT500, the lower control arms are the same on the GT500 as the GT, the GT500 does have different shocks and springs then the GTs did.

You don't need the twin piston calipers on the rear. If I remember correctly the GrandAm Mustangs still use the OEM rear calipers, or they did at one time. With the front biased weight of the Mustang the front is going to do 80% of the braking. Also, going with a more powerful brake setup in the rear will have to be setup properly or the car under hard braking will handle awkwardly under the weight transfer.

I think this thread is silly.. it was a big oops by ford to state the rear has upgraded brakes.. we know it doesnt and that its a error in the package details.

So, was your only purpose in this thread to troll about the suspension debate?

I'll see what I can dig up from some contacts.

Because I am helping to dispel RUMORS and spread the truth, I am a troll?

It's not a suspension "debate". There are no suspension differences. There never were.

It's the $400 tires. it's always been the tires.
