Brand new mustang owner! Need a bit of help with the audio in my car though.
hey guys!
I just purchased a slightly used 2013 V6 (premium package). I absolutely love it thus far. Rides excellent and looks even better. I am running into a slight problem though which, after searching for hours, seems common: bluetooth audio.
I have an aux cord in my car that I can use, although I would really like to set my iphone 5 up for bluetooth integration. I have programmed the phone so I can use it to answer incoming calls, and I've tried to make outgoing calls (keeps getting the names wrong). Still can't figure out how to play my music without wires though.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm not very car saavy so you guys might have to break it down a bit for me. I'm really excited to be part of the Ford family.

Well I can use the USB port as well but I'm trying to avoid the wires altogether. I've heard that you can give the command "bluetooth audio" and the music from your phone will play through the speakers.

With mine I have to have the audio running on my 4S while the car is on and on a regular FM station. Then I hit the "media" button on the radio, then get to the "audio source" and push select once I get to Bluetooth Audio. Works every time. It's a PROcess. Hope this helps.

I don't have sync in my mustang but my girlfriend has it in her fusion. This happened all the time in her car. Go to the menu settings and look through the settings and there should be something that has can allow you to switch from USB to Bluetooth audio. Sometimes it would just switch on its own. I think it's in advanced settings. Just look through the various menu options and you will see what I am talking about.

There have been numerous messages about folks with iPhones having similar problems. The simple solution is to get a small (in physical size) USB thumb drive, copy your music on to it, plug it into the USB port and be done with it. It's easy and it works. I have a 32GB thumb that is only about 1" long and I have over 280 albums on it. I connect my Android phone via BlueTooth but only use it to take and make calls.

Where did you buy the car?
Ford dealer?
My dealer has a SYNC specialist that will help with any issues a customer has and instruct them in how to use and access all the features.

Hey guys sorry I was at work all night long. So I tried the methods in this thread and still nothing. I got the car from carmax and I don't think they would know how to set everything up. I started the music up on my phone and hit the menu button. From there I found the media tab and went to Select Source. I selected the bluetooth audio tab from there and it said that it was connecting. After about fifteen seconds it said that there wasn't a bluetooth device connected.
I made a call before and after testing this just to see if it worked. Both times it did. There's an option on my phone to play music through either my iphone or sync. I reset it and all to no avail. Seems like it's right there and it's almost ready to play the music but nothings happening -_-
I might have to find a Ford dealer that would help me out cause I'm in the dark. I've got no clue.

have you tried hitting the SYNC voice command button and stating "bluetooth audio" ? That has always done the trick for me. Make sure you phone is set to stream via your BT settings too. That should do the trick. I've been able to stream audio stored on my phone as well as Pandora via the BT audio. The steering wheel controls for skipping tracks should also work.

Ill have to check youtube out when I get home, I didn't think of that. And yeah JScott, everything you mentioned is what I've been doing. Seems there might be a glitch somewhere.

Since your phone is already paired, I recommend a soft reset to your iPhone. This will strengthen your Bluetooth connection with SYNC. Hold down the POWER and HOME buttons on your iPhone simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. When the phone powers back up and connects to SYNC, press the VOICE COMMAND button on your steering wheel and give the command BLUETOOTH AUDIO. Begin playing music from your phone, and it should come through the speakers of your car.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, check out these tips for Bluetooth connections: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...eshooting-sync
