After just having had the full rear seat out in my convertible, I strongly suspect that the 'vert seat back could be actually made to fit OVER the cross bracing. could be an interesting solution to get the best of both worlds. The (2007) 'vert seat back is almost as light as the seat bottom.

Actually the rear seat bottom is very light, but the rear seat backs are considerably heavier. In my Bullitt the seat bottom cushion was around 10 lbs, while the seat back was more like 30 lbs because of the bracing and folding mechanism, the seat bottom is basically just foam and upholstery.

You are right the seat backs are heavier and once you remove all the brackets and seat belts it does add up.
I am pondering what I am going to do. I am going to put a lot of work in to this one so it looks like factory.
Or pay someone else haha.

Here is a pic of it now

Don't mind the microfiber towels, tripod, california duster, and the shammies. ( its all out know as I would not want that tripod come flying at me if I slam on the brakes)

We should all start calling Ford Racing and asking for it, swamp their switch boards, lets all do it on one day, I bet we could get them to release it.

It does not look good for getting the rear seat delete, the Company that made those for Ford is small and only made enough for the LS and a few extras and can't Handel the volume that is being requested, the guy at ford has said they have had a ton of calls for the seat delete kit, I say the need to find another Co to make them, wish I knew who the Co was.
