Borla Touring vs. Corsa Sport exhaust

Like many of you, I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my GT. My primary interest in doing so is for performance gains. Although I'm also looking for a deeper exhaust sound, I really want an exhaust that won't attract undue attention from the police, and has absolutely no droning.

I plan to get the Brenspeed Stage 2 Power pack. This includes Kooks headers, and catted X-pipe. I am planning to substitute the Steeda mufflers with either Corsa Sport or Borla Touring mufflers. I listened to both of these exhausts on the sticky, but would like to hear from people who've had personal experience with them. I was leaning towards the Corsas, as I heard that there was some droning with Borla Touring Exhausts (though this appears to now be rectified).

Corsa all the way. The fit & finish of the tips in the rear valence is the best I've seen from an aftermarket on the 2011 yet. I have the Extreme set on my car with X-pipe and the sound is fantastic. No drone at all at any rpm.

I honestly don't know. I will say though, the X pipe made the system sound a lot better.

I personally think the Borla Touring and S-Type systems sound superior to pretty much everything out there; they sound even better when coupled with Borla's X-pipe, IMO. The tips seem to stick out too far from the rear valence but, according to Southern Car Parts, this can be adjusted. They've corroborated this by showing pics of the Borla systems they've installed on their 2011. I've also been told by everyone I've asked who's installed a Borla exhaust on their respective 2011 5.0's that there is absolutely no drone whatsoever -- this is great because the S-Type system on my 2007 GT droned like crazy!

The Borla ATAK system sounds a lot like the Corsa systems I've heard -- loud and raspy.

Yeah, but they're the same mufflers used in the 2005-10 kits. The 2011+ Borla-badged systems utilize their new, drone-free muffler designs.

thanks for clearing that up.

I agree I think the Borlas sound best and you can't beat the fact that there's no drone. The SVT mufflers are high on my list too

If you go with just the axle back, then it is raspy. Add the X-pipe, the sound totally changes, and gets much cleaner. My car is the first one under the "Extreme" video, where I'm backing out of the driveway. I didn't have the X-pipe on at that time.

Ah, gotcha. Do you have any new videos? I'd love to hear your setup!

No, unfortunately I don't have any updated videos. One of these days, I'll get some clips up. There are several on YouTube that have the same setup I do.
