Borla exhaust is out? anyone try it?

I have had Borla systems in the past (including one that has been on my MX-5 for 150k miles)...and i have been happy with the quality....but the description above as "sound enhancement" worries me a bit...I like my v8 to sound natural and and fairly loud. Flowmasters have always bugged me because of the particular sound quality that they seem to add...hoping Borlas doesnt go down that path.

We will have rear sections and full cat-backs for each sound level. All 3 should perform about the same as they all incorporate our "straight-through" technology. I'll have definitive dyno figures soon. We like to test over time before we release numbers but in our history of over 30 years we've never had a problem making power.
I will post weight and flow figures early next week.
It took us quite a while and many different muffler designs to get it right but all 3 of the new Borla systems for 2011 5.0 have completely eliminated any and all droning issues. However, these systems also incorporate the deep and throaty exhaust note expected from Borla with 3 different sound levels to choose from. You get all the sound enhancements and excitement you expect from our exhaust systems at start-up, under acceleration and at WOT with zero drone anywhere in the RPM range including cruise. These are very special products that took a lot of time and effort to design.
Since the motor is so different, these mufflers are a radical departure from what we have offered for previous Mustangs. We didn't rest on our laurels and spent the time, resources and effort to come up with the right applications for this new platform. After designing exhaust systems for over 30 years we know that nothing can be taken for granted and are always looking to improve.
Thanks again for your interest and feel free to hit me with a PM if you have any questions.
Also, look out for the video next week because it's an excellent way to get an understanding of the 3 different systems from Borla.

I had a Borla exhaust back in 1989 on one of my first 5.0 Mustangs.
And I can't remember off hand, but I think it was a Borla I put on my VW GTi back in 1991 as well. I've been a customer dating back 21 years. I almost put the Borla's on both of my 335i's too, but never did.
Your exhausts for the new 5.0 are the ones I've been anxiously awaiting and planned on putting on my new 5.0 that comes in next week as well.
Look forward to your videos and sound clips.

I was 95% sure I was going with Borla months ago just based on my past experience with them, and my car doesn't even come in until this next week. The Flowmaster Hushpower is the only other one I've liked the sound of since then. But those are axleback only (but cheap though). I'm pretty sure I'm going to go Catback with the Borla, as the Borla sound has never let me down, just going to depend on the final pricing of the Borla catback.

Definitely like the sound of the S-Type the best. More "modern sports car" and less "60's muscle car" sound. My question would be, is it too loud to be livable for a daily use vehicle? ie if I'm cruising in 6th gear on my way to work, am I getting a headache?

Wow, those Borla systems sound incredible, especially the Touring and S-type! Now that I've reached the ripe, old age of 29, I believe I'll be going with the Touring kit this time rather than the S-Type, which is what I had on my 2007. While it was definitely livable for every-day driving, I actually like the quiet, stock exhaust -- I just prefer the deep, throaty rumble the Borla Touring system provides. Awesome!

David, I asked in another thread too, but going to ask here as well to make sure you see it:
Were the sound clips/video of the 2011 Mustang GT done with the axlebacks or the catback versions of your exhausts?
Thanks

I loved the Stinger catback with the factory H-pipe on my 03 cobra. I had people on the HWY asking me to rev my engine all the time and asking what exhaust setup was on that car.
I love Borla and will have to conside the Touring or the S-type when I order my 2012 in november of this year.
