Not for $760, way to much for what looks like an axle back. Maybe there is better pricing on the web somewhere, but wouldn't pay MSRP.

My hope is that the Borla system is a little more M3/S5 sounding, and not just another pseudo big block sound.

I doubt anybody has it yet as it was just released this week, cuz last week I checked and it was still not available.

$760 is not too bad for an axle back.

For my prior 335i's they were a bit higher than that.
Borla's axle backs drop a bit of weight and add a bit of power but they sound great.

So many aftermarket exhaust companies make their exhausts sound like a bag of marbles are in the cans and make too much racket. Borla's always seem to sound very stock like but just meaner, deeper and a bit louder. Not intrusive and full of drone like so many other aftermarket exhausts sounds.

Keep in mind $760 is the retail price. I'm sure some medium to higher volume shops in your area will get them for less and can probably pass that savings on to you.
It wouldn't surprise me if you couldn't get them installed for $760.

I'm anxious to hear how it sounds on the 5.0

You'd think Borla would have put up videos with the release on their site. Hopefully we see some demos in the next week or two?

Drove an S5 today. Here's to hoping someone will make an exhaust for the Mustang that gives it a similar note. That thing was blissful to listen to.

We need a sound clip to evaluate the Borla cat backs. Hoping to soon hear from Shaun's Dynomax exhaust system prototype.

We will have all 3 of our sound options for the 5.0L released next week. "Touring", "S-Type" and the patented "ATAK". There will also be a video released next week that shows the difference between the 3 options. The 5.0L motor is completely different from the previous Mustang and is required a radically different muffler design. We went through 18 different muffler designs in order to get the right 3 sound levels. They sound great and we are really proud of what we were able to do. I can't wait for you guys to hear them. Thanks for your interest!

Do any of these new systems sound somewhat similar to my Stinger C/B I had on my 03 Cobra?

Is it going to be an axleback or a full catback?

Any power difference between the 3 versions? If so how much gain for each?
Lastly, what's the weight savings over the stock exhaust.

Thanks

Is the Steeda axle-back actually made partially by Borla?

I love with the vendors come here to tease us and then leave right away instead of staying here to answer questions

We will have rear sections and full cat-backs for each sound level. All 3 should perform about the same as they all incorporate our "straight-through" technology. I'll have definitive dyno figures soon. We like to test over time before we release numbers but in our history of over 30 years we've never had a problem making power.

I will post weight and flow figures early next week.

It took us quite a while and many different muffler designs to get it right but all 3 of the new Borla systems for 2011 5.0 have completely eliminated any and all droning issues. However, these systems also incorporate the deep and throaty exhaust note expected from Borla with 3 different sound levels to choose from. You get all the sound enhancements and excitement you expect from our exhaust systems at start-up, under acceleration and at WOT with zero drone anywhere in the RPM range including cruise. These are very special products that took a lot of time and effort to design.

Since the motor is so different, these mufflers are a radical departure from what we have offered for previous Mustangs. We didn't rest on our laurels and spent the time, resources and effort to come up with the right applications for this new platform. After designing exhaust systems for over 30 years we know that nothing can be taken for granted and are always looking to improve.

Thanks again for your interest and feel free to hit me with a PM if you have any questions.

Also, look out for the video next week because it's an excellent way to get an understanding of the 3 different systems from Borla.
