Not if you over-rev by putting in a lower gear....The engine and trans alre locked mechanically and in an over-rev, elctronic throttle cut will have no effect..

Sounds like he should of bought and Auto instead of Stick !!

The stock 2011 Mustang shifter is ok, the center bias springs make it easier to find gears but ... I've had similar issues with getting in the desired gear a few times on quick shifts, just not catastrophic like this poor guy.

I do really miss the B&M Ripper I had in my '98 & '04 ... never had quick shift problems with it. I'm tempted to buy the new Steeda, but I'd like to see a few more choices and some un-biased comparison testing before I jump in.

It is a good thing Ford decided to use the same shifter assy. for both GT & V6 ... makes it that much more worthwhile for all the shifter mfr's. (B&M, Hurst, MGW, Pro 5.0, etc.), to get into the game too.

Doug

Sounds like a troll of the first order. I read his posts today and he seems to have dropped off the thread, while everyone else is commenting, unless he posted tonight.

I have had serious problems in the past with cars, and never reacted the way he is, for example, he doesn't want to contact a lawyer, after being shut down by the dealer and Ford. Very strange.

The fact that he doesn't want to contact a lawyer is an admission of wrongdoing on his part in my mind. He definitely killed it when he over-revved it by going 3-2 instead of 3-4 lol.

i was just curious why any one would be in 3rd gear on highway speeds. if you are trying to pass someone, wouldn't you downshift anyways to accelerate? if it was me driving at highway speeds, i probably would have been in 5th or 6th and downshifting to 4th or 5th, respectively, if i was trying to pass.

I do it almost everyday--downshifting from 5th (or 4th) to 3rd then back to 4th to round cloverleaf connectors while going from one freeway to another.

I've got a stock suspension and tires, so I can't round a cloverleaf in 4th the way some of you guys probably can.

I'm gonna be more careful after reading this.

I didn't read the thread, because I'm lazy, but, note: He claims he did not use a tuner, but a check engine light came on while driving? Wouldn't the check engine light be on full time, with no tuner, with an offroad x pipe?

Funny thing about this is the Off Road Pipe, if it is anything like what they told me about going in front of the Cat's he voided the warranty on the motor the second he changed it out. Reason was "an off road pipe or high flow cat's were used in racing, and racing will void your warranty" as told to me by my dealer.

There are better ways to improve the sound of your car without voiding your warranty though ...

On the 2011, changing the H-pipe out to an X-pipe doesn't affect the cats whatsoever. All this talk of an "off-road" pipe doesn't make sense to me. The cats are at the end of the headers, and have a small extension on them where the H-pipe bolts up.
