BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection FTW

This is probably the best synthetic sealant I have ever used. Easy to apply and remove. It makes the surface feel wet and the gloss is insane. Unfortunately it's hard to capture on a lighter color like Grabber Blue. It doesn't help that my digital camera isn't a DSLR.

How to achieve the best shine:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Polish
4. Glaze
5. Seal/Wax

Looks good. Tough to beat 6 coats of Zaino Bros. though.

Why do you suggest to seal after you glaze/wax?

That GB does look great though. I've been hard pressed to see someone photograph it well. Just doesn't show its true style.

Glaze isn't wax, or at least in this case it wasn't. Glaze is a non-abrasive polish that further cleans the paint surface so that the sealant bonds well. Blackfire sealant acts as my wax. I prefer synthetic sealant to conventional carnauba wax because it lasts so much longer.

A glaze is often an optional step of the detailing process, but when used correctly can help add an additional layer of gloss and depth to the paint. Glazes are essentially polishes that leave behind oils, kaolin clay or some other substance that is designed to increase the depth and gloss while being able to mask or hide some minor imperfections in the paint. Glazes are great products to use right before a car show as it can help increase the depth and gloss, especially on lighter colored vehicles where this is often hard to accomplish. One of the downsides of using a glaze is that some products make it difficult for a sealant to properly bond to the paint, so it is important to research which glaze you plan on using.
Many peoples expectations are often too high when it comes to a glaze filling in minor imperfections. If your car is filled with swirls and scratches, you are much better off investing in a polish to remove the marks, which is also a permanent fix, the results from a glaze are temporary. Your car should be washed, clayed, and polished prior to using a glaze for optimal results.

Gotcha.

Typically, when I think sealant, I think of a product that is a post-polish step that protects the paint, then use a wax to improve the depth of shine. You can get away with just the glaze/sealant, but the natural carnauba helps improve it's depth.

303 Aerospace Protectant. This stuff is the shizznit. I use it on everything plastic, rubber, or leather. Including all of the exterior cladding, sirius antenna, am/fm antenna, window trim, etc. I also use it on the interior and my leather seats. Even the engine compartment. It makes the cladding nice and dark while protecting it from the elements. Everyone should have this in their detailing arsenal.

Adam, do you think you could come to Tennessee and do my Mustang? I know, too far LOL!!! Looks really good. Do you think local chain auto parts stores sell the Aerospace Protectant? Sounds like it works pretty well.

A ton of people use it, I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing it in major retailers soon. For now, I order mine online.

So Adam, interested in the product you posted so on all the plastic trim and engine compartment makes a deeper color?

I can probably get this and stop using the Meguiars that you basically need to reapply every few days..

It makes plastic and rubber look darker without being artificially shiny. I don't know how it compares to Meguiar's but I definitely recommend the product.

Thanks for the info, Adam. Any idea what this stuff would do to my Stone leather seats?

+1 on 303 for just about anything plastic. I use it on the dash, black trim, etc. on most cars and the finish is great. Not greasy looking at all.

It's perfectly safe on finished leather. It'll provide UV protection and keep them looking great. I use it on my charcoal leather seats all the time.

UPS guy just showed up with the 303 and my Sonus refill. I immediately tried the 303 and it is FANTASTIC.

Thank you for the recommendation, Adam!

303 is an awesome product. I even tried it on my tires and it leaves a nice natural, clean look. Not sure about how well it will hold up over time/rain/etc....but so far so good.

No problem! Plexus is another one of my favorites.
