I dont know if I would keep it in my basement. A guy at our local Mustang club had his fail in his garage. Not sure if his battery exploded or what. He had 2-3k of damage to his Shelby, 3-4k damage to his T-Bird and 25-28K smoke damage to his home. He was lucky it didnt catch fire.

I don't keep my maintainer hooked up all the time. I hook it up for a day at a time every other week or so.
