Base Price increase
Base Price increase
Just looking at the B&P site and seems the base cars have had a MSRP price increase.
Premiums had gone up as of the start of the 2012 MY, now they have bumped the base cars.
Base cars went up by $155.
Interestingly, destination went down by $55 to $795.
This means that Ford doesn't have GT's for less than $30K delivered MSRP any more.
They had been making a big deal out of having the GT as $29,995 and now it's $30,105...

Base Price for a GT Coupe here in Canada is $38,699. The worst part is, is that the Canadian Dollars is just above the US Dollar.
I do have to point out that our base GT does have more standard features then in the US so that price is not a apples to apples comparison

Going back deeper, I bought a new '89 5.0L LX for $15,750. So, that's $557/yr average. At that rate, it will be $33K by 2020.
I remember when I bought my first new car when I was 20 and it was a 1990 LX 5.0 The car was priced at 14,600 and at the time I thought it was pricey. Now fast forward to 2011 and I purchased my 2011 GT at a tick below 30G. I can only imagine in ten more yrs that buying a 2021 GT will hardly be below 40G with the way inflation is going these days.
I remember My frist Mustang, paid all or $8,000.00 for it. The sad thing is I just orded a 2012 MCA edition and it is the most expensive car I have purchased so far at $34,000.00. Beats my 02 GT by $6000 and the 98 Durango I had by $2000.00. I miss the good old days when cars were cheap.
Let's compare 32-valve models: I paid $23K for my '03 Mach 1 and paid $28K for my '11 5.0L. I bought both cars brand new. $5K inflation over 8 years, essentially $625/yr average.

I dont have to be the guy that has it first. Im patient and a salesman worst nightmare. I have all of my **** in one bag before I step foot onto a stealership.
Given the Mt 82 problems I bet one of them can be picked up cheap down the road.
You have to compare it to the the cars that actually have huge issues, to the point where federal agencies get involved. At THIS point you'll have a huge drop. The GT is a performance car, it's why it's not getting hit as hard by these gas prices either. It takes some massive problems to cause a performance car to take a hit.
