Barton Hybrid 3 shifter

Browsing through AM today and news to me... the Barton Hybrid 3 shifter is now available for the 11-14's. I know the shifter debate has been beaten to death, but this seems to throw a new spin on it and I cant seem to find much as far as reviews go on this new one. It seems to be similar to the MGW with the added option to mount to the body(seems silly, but whatever). Its roughly the same price as the MGW Race spec as well.

I have been procrastinating on getting a new shifter, mainly because I couldn't decide between saving some money with the regular top Mount Barton (already have the 2 post bracket) or going full bore with the MGW.....Now there's this....

Anyone else looked at this? What do you guys think?

I looked at it too. I look at it 2 ways. I have the regular Barton bracket and a q-ball ****.

1) If you are having lockout issue, are missing gear, or grinding badly this may be a good investment. Brton or MGW.

2) If you only complaints are (like me) that the shift throw is a bit long and that every so often it feels like a metal rod into a box of rocks, then I can't justify spending that kind of money.

So I've been on the fence and just driving the **** out of the stock shifer with a $60 Barton bracket. Oh, the other thing that helped reduce that "box of rocks" feel was Royal Purple Synchromax fluid. That was a good investment too. Didn't totally make it go away, but it happened maybe 3 times in the 1.5 years I've used it.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the first category you mentioned. I grind from 3 to 4 at least a couple times a day(I'm actually worried I might have a bad syncro or something)....Oddly enough 2 to 3 I don't have too many issues with unless I'm under very hard acceleration. Then I occasionally get kicked out/ grind and miss.

I have the Barton bracket, like you, and it does help with that "box of rocks" feel like you said quite a bit. But that's really all it did for me. I will definitely give the Royal Purple Synchromax a go.

I think its going to come down to either the MGW or the Barton Hybrid 3 for me, as I am having every issue you mentioned in the first catagory
