Question Anyone NOT having trouble with their 2011 clutches?

All I read on the Mustang forums is about people having trouble with their clutches on their 2011s.. Is there anyone who has not had any problems? If so, how many miles do you have, and how hard do you drive the car?

Is this really that serious a problem? I wanted to buy a 2011, but I'm starting to have some doubts..

Thanks!

12,650 miles so far and no problems ... car was built 4/15 and delivered 5/21.

Mine is a V6 though, so the GT pedal problem does not apply ... however there is supposed to be a problem with Pressure Plate to Flywheel bolts coming loose on the V6 which IMO is worse than a pedal problem.

80~90% of my miles are interstate, but do beat on it from time to time ... about halfway through the tread on my Pirrelli's in 11,000 miles confirms this !!

Zero problems in 4500 miles with the Clutch, but my clutch pedal recently started squeeking when I depress and release it, but only when the car is cold first thing in the morning.

4,000 miles and about 30 drag strip passes leaving at 4,000rpm and not one problem YET. I do not powershift and I do lift completely between shifts. I might or might not have problems in the future but as of now shes running good.

No problems at all here. I've got 2300 miles, and I drive it like it was meant to be driven!

Nearly 4,000 VERY HARD miles on our main company test car and absolutely zero problems. TONS of hard drag strip passes taking the engine to 7400 regularly.

Eventually she'll go with the testing and driving we do, but so far so good!

Do you have a summarized list of the type of problems/symptoms we are seeing?

I have 7200 on my GT and I don't think I have any clutch problems (I say I don't think so because I haven't driven a manual for over 10 years so I'm not sure exactly what to look for).

My only gripe is when it is real cold, moving into 1st can be clunky. Not real smooth. If I rev up over 3k, then my shifts are smooth like butter.

8,000 on mine and no clutch problems. I have the ratchety 1 => 2 shift even with the skip-shift feature tuned out, but I have taken it to 7,000 RPMs several times and never had the clutch stay on the floor. Also, no problems with clutch resistance, i.e. pressure plate bolts backing out making clutch too light. So far so good.

Mostly notchy/hard shifting into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. (I only experience in 1st and 2nd)

Sometimes 1st and 2nd won't go int unless you force it in. It isn't due to the skip-shift feature, because people with it eliminated and V6 drivers (myself) also have this issue.

It lurches/bucks going into 2nd unless you slip the clutch longer than you should.

After reading that thread, I guess i'm in the same boat. I normally go 1 to 3 since the gears seem so short and going in to 2nd is never comfortable unless gunning it. Hopefully Ford can produce a fix in the near future.

5500 miles, and no problems. I do not speed shift, but I do shift a lot when driving in the hills, which I do as often as I can. The majority of driving is the interstate. I drove on some icy, and lightly snow covered streets recently, but used second gear starts at the lights without problems. I have yet to encounter the dreaded skip shift.
I have found if I let it idle, in neutral, when cold starting, for just a few minutes while buckling up and setting the radio, it shifts much smoother while still cold.

UPDATE: (5 Jul 11) 11000 plus miles and still no problems. If anything she is shifting smoother and easier then ever. This is one of the best cars I have owned. No rattles or squeeks either.

I put 8000+ miles on mine before putting her away for the winter. Some city driving, plenty of highway, a fair amount of . . . let's call it high-performance driving. This is the most satisfying transmission/shifter I've ever had.

I've got about 12,350 miles on my 2011 GT, and have had no clutch issues at all. I drive it pretty hard at least 2-3 times a week.
