I would like a short throw, but the stock one is pretty short. I think the shift bracket is what causes most of the missed shifts.

What he said. But since you asked, I bought the Barton Shifter and Bracket but just installed the bracket. I wanted to see if it made a difference and it does. The shifter is still in the box and has been for months. Might sell it might put it on the car.

 

Just installed the Steeda shifter with stock tranny mount and will go back with stock shifter and use a Steeda tranny mount. Don't like the way the car shifts right now. I'm fighting it all the time, very hard to get into gears and not to mention the additional NVH which is annoying.

 

When I searched nothing came up, Sorry guys. I always search first. The only think I could find was MT-82 Transmission problems...

 

Don't sweat it, we'll take good care of you ! I say do the tranny mount first and see how you like it. In my case i should've started with the tranny mount only, but did the shifter and stock bracket first and not liking it at all. So for me the stock shifter with Steeda urethane bracket will do just fine thank you.

Anyone go from the bracket that UPR has to the Steeda version? I'm just wondering if the Steeda bracket is worth the extra $$$.

 

I got the JHR shift bracket and switched to Red Line MTL. Shifting perfect now.

 

I want to change the bracket regardless. HAVE YOU SEEN THE STOCK ONE!

Ford and NERF teamed up to make this thing. So flimsy. And the zip ties are just the icing on the cake. haha

 

Go with the Steeda. The UPR has a ton of NVH! UPR even admits it and reccommended the Steeda when I returned mine. UPR is $55 shipped, Steeda's is on sale $70 shipped, to me that extra $15 is worth not having the annoying NVH.

My actual UPR ( Actually JHR ) bracket is going to be returned as soon as i get the call tag. They couldn't not provide me with a urethane bushing, they only ship with the Delrin bushing which is as hard as rock . Not good for NVH if you ask me. The Steeda one offers you two different types of polyurethane bushings.

I actually got the UPR (JHR) bracket with urethane bushing and haven't notice any increase in NVH. They key is to get the one with urethane bushing if available, if not skip it. I guess the advantage of the Steeda bracket is that you get both bushing but then you end up paying for an extra bushing that you will throw away any way.

 

That's what I thought I was getting, even UPR's site said it was polyurethane. I'm thinking they got a bad batch or something because montrealponies and I got them around the same time and both have the same issue. Even when I called UPR the guy didn't understand why. I'm not knocking UPR in any way, they've been real good at helping me out and I'll probably be getting some suspension parts from them in the future.

 

Update: I swapped out the UPR to the Steeda mount today. Big difference in NVH!! With the red bushing there no additional noise now. Sounds as it did stock. With the UPR there was a constant whooshing sound in the cabin that was unbearable at times with the windows up.

Anyone on the fence between the two, save yourself the aggravation and spend the extra $15 on the Steeda. Steeda has a sale on it now for $69.99 shipped!
