Any non-tacky ways to integrate a shift light for us non Premium Package guys?

I don't like leather, I don't like the extra cost, complexity and weight of luxury related options in my performance cars...
...but I DO like the integrated shift light in the premium package cars!

Is there any way to set one up that won't make it look like a bad *** "Civic Type R" ?

I'm thinking of just a small, inconspicuous (when inactive) LED...

Any tips, links, info, or opinions would be welcome.

Roush Vent pod and either an Autometer DPSS or a Stewart-Warner GUS

PS The colour-changing tach isn't really a shift-light, it only shows when you over-rev and it's not programmable

There are any number of people that have mounted the Raptor in the vent so it's totally inconspicuous. I'm not one of them, but they're out there.

+1, i only see it in my premium for a split second as i shift and the revs make it a touch higher then when i pulled it out of gear. scared me the first time it went off lol
