Any ideas on what's holding up orders?

I ordered my V6 on June 23rd. It was supposed to be here on Aug. 11th. My salesman now says the new ETA is Aug. 27th. He says it is stuck up in Michigan.

No clue... but for kicks and giggles, I called up an NJ Lambo dealer. If you order a Lambo today, a HANDMADE CAR, you'll have it on the ground before Halloween.

How our Mustangs take 10... 14... 18+ weeks to be delivered is beyond me. It's even more outrageous that some of the members of this forum have had to wait over a month for a car that was sitting in a railyard drop-off within 50 miles of their dealership.

Efficient delivery/ordering seems to be the only major fault I find with Ford.

John, if you get anymore info, please pass it along. Mine's also on the ramp, "awaiting shipment." I guess both of our cars could be on the same train, although my ETA isn't until 9/2. Thanks.

Ryan,

I don't think I'll be seeing my car this week either. I'm expecting it next month.

I'll let you know if I hear something.

John

Ryan:
Our cars are almost brothers/sisters in regards to build date. Mine was build on 08/19, and is ready awaiting shipment. My sales rep called me yesterday to inform me, that he had received a new/updated ETA for my vehicle. It is now 09/16 instead of 09/03 originally...

I guess they must pack the cars on the slow trains...

There is a definite backlog with Ramp 5P. My car was sitting in that lot for a MONTH before it shipped. I ordered my car 6/11 and it was sent to 5P on 6/27 and it sat there until 7/28 when it was finally shipped and it arrived at my dealer on 8/5.

I talked to my salesman. My car is now sitting in a rail car in Virginia. The new ETA is 8/29.

Great, I was hoping the ramp shenanigans were over. I've contacted my dealer for an update too.

John, I'd consider that good news. At least it's left the factory.

Your talk about a handmade lambo doesnt mean ****...

lets see lambo makes probably 5 cars at a time... Ford is making tens of thousands ...

there is no comparison.

Yup. If Ford did that, they'd have to increase prices. And I don't know about you, but an extra $1000 dollars for Next Day Air as opposed to 1-2 business weeks? Ehh.

Ford is not alone. The domestic manufacturers have big logistics problems for some reason. It took me 5 months to get my Challenger. It sat on a ramp for almost a month in Toledo.

I wish Ford would have "take delivery at factory" option. When the car was in the lot, you'd get a call and you had to pick it up from there. Do some paperwork at your dealer first for a temp plate or something. Take paperwork to AAI, inspect vehicle, and drive it back to wherever you are from.

You can take delivery of your Corvette this way for an additional $500 fee over and above the regular transportation charge..

No doubt. My in-laws live about a half hour from Flat Rock. That would be super handy for us.

So are these delays affecting everybody? Our Mustang was supposed to be built last Thursday and should be here around this weekend, but if there are delays, then who knows when we'll see it.

I would love to see this, but your dealer would have a stroke.

How else can they sell you window tint, VIN etching, Scotchguarding and undercoating?
