Any cone carving auto-x'ers around here?

How has your 2010/2011 GT handled the course?

If you have already participated in an event, how did you do among your class?

Are you happy with the handling? How is the steering response?

What is your configuration? Do you wish you had picked different gears?

Are you planning any mods or are you staying in the stock class?

I had visions of modding up the 2009 for improved autocrossing prowess before I decided to trade up for the '11...after one test drive, it was obvious that it would take a lot of cash to even get the 2009 up to the level of rigidity and cornering of a stock 2011.

sorry, I can't respond to your question because of my related question:

How do you find a local autocross to get started in it? (I am located in Massachusetts in case that makes a difference) . . . . thanks and sorry for the minor hijack (but hey at least I bumped it back to the top)

Stinger posted videos of his Mustang in an autocross event, pretty tight course, he missed one turn, but that was his mistake, his second run was cleaner. He got top of his class, and the car was still pretty much stock at that point as I recall, I think he only had a spoiler and fascia change.

I'm in CT... so possibly not too far away from you. I heard about CART through the grapevine and it's the only group I have autocrossed with...and it's a pretty good group of folks.

Otherwise, you can join up with SCCA and they will help get you in the right direction...

Also, I believe there is a big event at Fort Devens Ayer...not sure how far that is from you.

^wow...

That's the meanest looking 5.0 yet.
The list of mods is impressive for a car that you have had for such a short time!!

Looking forward to checking out the videos (when I'm not on my work computer).

Sam Strano took first at Peru last weekend in a 2011 5.0. He barely beat the Shelby GT, which is the same model he used to drive.

The Shelby GT is a ringer for F-stock though. FRPP suspension as "Stock"

Not entirely correct. Sam was in his 2011 GT on day one but was having some issues with power delivery IIRC. After day one he was in 2nd place (to a Shelby GT). He jumped back in a Shelby for day two and ended up winning the class for the event.

IMO, the handling of the 2011 (stock) feels very similar to my 06 with suspension mods. If interested, below is a link to one of my 06 in-car videos from Road Atlanta. Hope to get the 2011 to the track soon for a better comparison between the two. ($$$)

I've wanted to get into auto-x for a while now but never have. I didn't think there were a lot of fans on this site due to my ad not getting attention here: https://themustangsource.com/f722/we...g-kdws-482532/

I take it you were the beneficiary of some slightly used hand-me-downs...
