Another Question for Dealers

Would be great to get an answer from the dealers we have here (Jeff, Brian, KC, Paul, etc).

I got my deal on my 5.0 for Invoice (w/holdback). Now, it occurs to me that I could still use my x-plan and it would only be about $200 more than this. Why would I do this you say?

Well I figure if I do X-plan the dealer will make more money (since Ford pays them for X-plan, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and maybe the dealer will throw an extra in with the deal for free like an ESP, wheels, or some accessories...

What do you guys think?

The dealer can't give you anything worth more than $50..... (see below). Good catch Paul.

Huge no-no according to Ford. Ford says we aren't allowed to vary the pricing at all including throwing in freebies. If we get caught doing it we can get in all kinds of trouble including chargebacks on the plans commision, but more importantly you don't want to be on their bad side. Definately not worth it from the dealer side.

Oops, my bad. I don't handle to plan sales at our dealership, so I was assuming.... and you know what happens when you assume. Here's the rule straight from Ford....

By signing this form, the customer acknowledges receipt of the vehicle designated above and indicates that the customer has read or has had the opportunity to read, the Plan rules and agrees that he/she will not violate any Plan provision or solicit any money, price discount, or any item of value in excess of $50 (dealership cost), from anyone in connection with the purchase or lease of a vehicle under the Plan.

Now I wonder if X-Plan is the way to go anyway since it caps the doc fees and such. might wind up cheaper...

That does have benefits in some states. I'm in NY so we can only charge $75 either way.
