Sure, you got an '11 for that. It would be hard to do less than x-plan for a '12 right now, especially for a special order.

Yup, just ask for it. They can lock this one in too.

It's just the irony of "I hope my car shows up soon!" and the joy of getting it in just 5 weeks, juxtaposed with the fact that I'd have saved a THOUSAND DOLLARS if it'd just taken a week and a half longer to get to the dealer. I feel like an idiot now for checking the status daily and pestering Daysha so much....

A thousand bucks pays for the 19-inch nickels, which I would liked to have had but passed on. Oh well....

Thats just how it goes sometimes. Don't worry about it the car is worth paying MSRP for, anything better than that is icing on the cake.

Ford Incentives

I just took delivery of my 2012 mustang which I ordered in April and the dealer would not give me the $500 and the $1,000 incentives. Are all dealers required to honor these incentives?

My dealer said at time of signing that whatever offer is being given at time of delivery is what ill get. He said it could better or worse at time of delivery? ..Im still skeptical. Also, worried if they will accept my$ 750 coupon since expires 7/30 and delivery date is 8/9

Order another brochure NOW.

That being said, your dealer has the ability to lock in incentives. They can lock in the $1500 NOW and you would have no worries on those. They can also lock in your coupon discount but it takes some more work on their part in getting in contact with their Ford rep. I had to tell my dealer that it was possible, they investigated and found that it was indeed possible. They can get better but as long as the dealer does the right thing, they can't get worse.

What was their reasoning for not giving you the incentives? They absolutely should have. They may have "pre-applied" the $500 in your initially negotiated price but seeing as though the $1000 is new there's no way they could have done that.

My salesman said it was only incentives available when ordered. I am calling Ford Customer Service Monday and ask if dealers are required to honor at time of delivery.

He's full of ****. I'm pretty sure all dealers are required to honor Ford promotional incentives. And it's what is available when you sign the papers, not when you order.

they are not required to its just a pretty dirtbag move not to. the dealer i bought my 2010 from tried to pull the same thing and i only ended up getting half of what was available. what the dealer will do is file for the incentives and apply them and make that much more on your car. you should let them know how unhappy you are and that the satisfaction survery will reflect that.

I called Ford about the incentives and they told me "whatever is offered at time of pick up of car"..I even had the dealer highlight this in my contract

FYI, Dan, this is not correct. If you pay the car off quicker than the minimum payment, you are losing money. People should do the the math in both situations and ask themselves whether they are going to put down money and/or pay it off early. Also what is the lowest interest rate available through a bank or credit union.
If you put very little down and do not intend to pay it off early, your assumption is correct.
