Airaid CAI help 2012 mustang v6

Hey guys,
I recently bought a Airaid cold air intake for my new mustang. I followed the instructions provided exactly, but I have been trouble fitting everything together due to the tight fit of the intake. Whenever I put the intake tube into the throttle body, I can't fit the tube into the filter cage, and the opposite happens when I put the tube into the cage first. I was having so much trouble with the CAI install that I had to put the stock air box back in so I could drive to school tomorrow. Could anyone give me some tips on the CAI install or point me in the direction of a thread that goes through the steps of the install?
Thanks!
P.S. Go easy on me guys. I'm only 17, this is my first stang, and I'm not the best with cars.

Hey, i will go easy on ya - what a fabulous car for such a young guy. Just promise me you will treat it with respect and don't "rice it" up, OK?!

Many of us have had the same issue when installing the CAI kit. Here is what worked for me: first I patiently struggled with getting the coupler on the throttle body end, and then I took the Airaid air-box back out. I installed the tube end in the airb-boxd while it was kind of just hanging up in the air, and then carefully worked the air-box (with tube attached back down into position and then secured it in place. THEN I installed the MAF sensor thingy and buttoned everything up. Handle like eggs and you will be fine.

I found it almost impossible to put it together the way the instructions said, and I think you might be struggling with the same issue. Let me know if this isn't clear enough, OK?

Good luck young man!

Yeah, always looked to me that was the best way to install it was to assemble the tube to the box and then slip the connector onto the throttle body and lower the air box into place. Never figured out why they say to do it any other way.

Okay thanks guys! I'm going to try again Saturday after I finish taking my SAT. So the general consensus is to attach the tube to the box (screw it in) and then try to bolt everything else on? Sorry for all of the questions, just want to know how everyone had such an easy time putting this CAI in (reviews on Americanmuscle) and I am struggling.
