This is an absolutely huge Ford dealer!

Let me first say that I live here in New Hampshire and the largest dealer in my area only has 13 new Mustangs in inventory. I originally came from. New Jersey and the largest dealer in my area has about 24 Mustangs in inventory.

Auto Nation Ford in Texas has 90 Mustangs at the moment. OMG!!!!!

It's like Mustang heaven.

My car came from there.

Now, they have two stores in the area so that total of 90 may include both stores.

90! Good problem to have (as a shopper)! I recall making a point to go to Galpin when on vacation in L.A. This place has way more going on...!

I feel in love with some of the custom cars that Galpin had in their showroom

I went to Galpin as well when I went to LA and it was pretty cool. The salesperson knew I was just in town to visit but still took his time to give me a tour.

Texas always has the cheapest prices it seems.

We have Tousley here (which is now an Autonation Ford too FWIW), but we don't have anything remotely as large as the one in the OP.

My car also came from Autonation Ford. It was so hard to pick because they had so many there. I had already done my research and printed out everything to look at a specific black one, but I saw the SGM with white stripes and loved that and got it instead. Good prices with basically no haggling required. At the time I think they were the most volume dealer with Ford? Idk

Regarding the size, Autonation Ford Katy has three lots, in effect, and are currently expanding things. Their main show room is being renovated, they are building a new shop and likely parts warehouse on the back of the second lot, and they have an overflow lot where the other cars are stored until needed. The two main lots separated by a street, and the third, added grassy plot is down the way.

It's a little messy, but they're makin' it work. The service drive is open air on one side now though..

I don't work there, but I work near there, figured I'd tell yas, that's why they have so many cars.

The map that shows all the cars. A is the main lot location, with the second lot next door to the right, and then B is the overflow they acquired to do the construction. It's fairly recent pics:

http://goo.gl/maps/TGRdu

Main store is on the left lot, with the shop and parts behind it, currently. Second lot on the right, across the street, with the used car 'box' in the front, and the new building in the middle. Body shop is the darker roofed building in the back. I'm guessing that won't change, but the old parts and shop are moving to the new building, but I don't know for sure, it's just a guess. And they acquired the strip between the lot and the next street east as well, so there you see more cars even.

The overflow is also packed with cars. If you zoom in, you lose the pics to an earlier set, so it turns into an old garden center, and the big new building is lost in the second lot.

Lots goin' on at Autonation Ford Katy. Lots. I bet the networking/phones is hilarious right about now..

Edit: I decided to outline their current lands. 'Cause.

Being an Autonation store, I`d be suprised if that was just for a single location and not combining the inventories of multiple locations while claiming it was there.

The larger lots here typically will have 40-50 mustangs of various levels in stock at any given time. However, thats nothing compared to the amount of F-150`s they will keep in stock. The store I work with typically keeps between 100 to 150 F-150`s in stock at all times to keep up with their average of selling 20-25 per week. That is small compared to the larger lots which keep 300-500 of them depending on the time of the year. Seems like a lot, but not really when you realise that on average Ford sells an F-150 every 60 seconds each and every day

Holy Cow!

As a comparison here in West Michigan, my local dealer Borgman has 1 Mustang:

The bigger Ford dealer in town (Fox Ford) has five.
