As hard as the pricing is falling on the 2010's if I was ready to buy right now I would buy a 2010 and put a supercharger on it and go out and enjoy the hell out of it.

Only you can answer that question, regardless of what anyone might comment. From a purely financial point of view, without seeing what you owe, it would seem the depreciation loss plus what you spent for your aftermarket parts is going to be quite a bit to overcome.

On a purely desire level, before making the commitment, I would most definitely drive the car to see if the "seat-of-the-pants" feel is as intense as it might seem as the car fever burns bright in your mind

From there, the value of the rest of the items you mention will most likely come into focus if they contribute to the driving feel.

I presume you were aware of the new engine, so what were the factors in your decision to get a 2010 initially? It might be good to look at those again.

PS - If it was me, I'd wait for the Boss!

I own my 2010 gt outright with some nice mods i installed. I could get a 2011 with a low payment, but now that I've made my 2010 officially mine i don't want to let go and then start over again...The 2011 is tempting but i'm gonna stay with my 2010....Next mod, Edelbrock Supercharger....!!!!

Still having buyer's remorse I see? The answer is still NO as far as financially speaking. Your 2010 is now a used vehicle. People on this forum are talking about the ability to purchase new 2010's for under $25000.
If you still can't justify in your head and heart, keeping your 2010, then NOW is the time to get rid of it and order your new 5.0! Otherwise we will be seeing new threads that reiterate this over and over and over and over and over and over .................. and over.
Do it, pull the trigger.

This is the right idea.

The 2011 MY won't be the end, just a new beginning, so you can always get one in the future.

And Ford won't be able to rest on its laurels, they will have to keep improving the cars to keep up with the race, so the coming years will be better and better for the Mustang.

Honestly guys just like kona stang said. Now that ive made my car mine i really do love it so much and i cant justify selling it at this time. I drove a buddys GT500 today that has all basic bolt ons and really thats whay my heart wants and at this time its not feasible but in a few years i really think it will be so thats what im going to set my mind on. Plain and simple the 5.0 will be a great car , but those gt500s when worked up a it are just FCKING rediculous! And when the times right . Thats what ill get

I know what you're going through though on the opposite side of the fence. I'm over the hill on the GTO and could trade for a Camaro but I still have a couple thousand more to go till even and would take the hit financially. Did the same with my Z28 when the GTO came out almost traded it in for one. However I just payed the Z off and picked up the GTO barely used and modded the hell out of the Z. Just going to pay off the GTO and keep it and then buy the Camaro (or something else in mind actually). When I do mods to them no matter how small they become "mine" and I'm stingy I'll not sell or trade.

Plus you get very little if any money from mods anyway so trading a modded stang wouldn't be very lucridous.

i thought (briefly) about this option as well but in reality I am going to go to higher payments for the loss I take on the 2010 and when the 2014 comes out, I am really going to want that car and have to take a hit on the 2011 (hit on 2010 times financing rate rolled into 2011 contract) than if i just stick with the 2010 and take the equity i will have on the trade of the 2010. Much easier to stick with the 2010 and roll that into a 2014 or if i don't like what i see in rumors, spy pics for the 2014 i can grab a last run 2012 or 2013 GT500 once that market has quieted down.

By the time you sell/trade your '10 and get in a new '11, it might cost that much (Tax, dest, etc on the '10 is never taken into account for a trade not counting depreciation)
I've read more than once about people using their trade in allowance against the price of a new car, and then only paying tax on the difference in price. Anyone have any idea if this is something universal, or state by state?

MASS, you only pay tax on price after trade in allowance. basically the dealer is dropping the price of the vehicle, same way a coupon would work in a store you dont pay tax on the price before coupon. Logic would assume it should be like that in all states but you never know
