The 2010 is a nice car, no doubt. But if you popped those 5.0 badges on the side, well, who would know but you.

 

If anything, I plan on removing the 5.0 badge on my 2011.

I can understand that, I took off my GT emblems and put on pony package emblems. What would you put on in their place, assuming there's mounting holes?

It's not a splitting image, I agree, but the differences are very subtle and only a true mustang fanatic, like myself, may or may not notice.

 

1. You know somebody will do it somewhere.

2. All the motorheads will know the difference.
3. Many people will think it is a 5.0 even after you lift the hood.
4. Most people won't care.

 

The ridiculous thing about people who do that is that anyone who will know enough to care, will probably also be able to spot a poser.

May favorite are the "Type R" Hondas everywhere. I'm not even a Honda fan and I can tell a fake from 50 feet.

On another note, I don't think there are mounting holes on the 5.0 badges. If there are, I'd assume that the Pony pkg side emblems share the same footprint on the fenders. I can't see them stamping multiple punch outs on different fenders.
