It's not a splitting image, I agree, but the differences are very subtle and only a true mustang fanatic, like myself, may or may not notice.

1. You know somebody will do it somewhere.
.
2. All the motorheads will know the difference.
3. Many people will think it is a 5.0 even after you lift the hood.
4. Most people won't care.

The ridiculous thing about people who do that is that anyone who will know enough to care, will probably also be able to spot a poser.
May favorite are the "Type R" Hondas everywhere. I'm not even a Honda fan and I can tell a fake from 50 feet.

Please, for the sake of your own respect, don't even consider this. It's tacky, and totally useless.
On another note, I don't think there are mounting holes on the 5.0 badges. If there are, I'd assume that the Pony pkg side emblems share the same footprint on the fenders. I can't see them stamping multiple punch outs on different fenders.

LOL, funny, my biggest gripe is people who throw Mazdaspeed badges on cars that have NO performance improvements.

Hey, Mick. Or should we call you Dr Mick? I mean I really can't tell from the exterior if your a doctor or a regular guy like us at all. So, what harm is there in telling the world that you're a doctor, right?
