Mostly just to see if you'd keep reading it, I think.

I ordered my 05 on December 26, 2004 and took delievery on May 2, 2005. It's always a struggle when you are so excited to get something. Patience Grasshopper!

I understand the frustration on not having the car yet, but to declare the waiting "unacceptable" and "Not sure i'll be willing to take delivery of this vehicle now." is just ridiculous. Exactly what made you think your car would be shipped to you the minute it's pulled off the assembly line?

No one forced you to preorder a 2011 Mustang at the same time as everyone else (including dealerships). There were...what, 16000 preorders by February(I don't remember the actual number but it was huge)? And that probably wasn't counting what orders the Dealerships were trying to get put through so they have something on the lots. All during a time when Ford had its work force still cut back by huge amounts to stay afloat.

If you were seriously this concerned about the car being 100% undamaged, why didn't you just wait until later when the assembly/shipping would far more streamlined?

Good catch. I corrected the timeline.

np,

I ordered my '05 in July of 2004 and received it November 19th, 2004.

Even with the MyColor, billet look dash, manual trans. & rear spoiler shortages, 19 weeks...

I personally don't think it's ever going to get any better, and ordering earlier still (usually) means getting it earlier. Waiting the extra six weeks to order may mean waiting less time between order and delivery, but it's a lot more time waiting between the moment you say "This is the car I want" to delivery.

Of course, there may be something to be said for it sitting in the weather as little as possible. If I were putting it up in a garage and planning on only putting it out on pretty days I'd be a little upset too. As it is, it'll be sitting out exposed to the weather 24/7/365, so I can't really complain.

Sad too, my '04 had the occasional benefit of a garage in very serious weather, hailstorms and the like, largely due to the fact that no one cared for the GMC Suburban. But that got replaced with a 2010 Camaro SS (Yeah, I know, way to stick the knife in and then TWIST IT).

Anyway, I digress, I hope you guys get your cars soon, but to give you some consolation, it doesn't look like my car is moving out ahead of yours:

Awaiting Shipment Origin Received - D10 (Autoport Limited ) Ramp 5P, Flat Rock, MI May-23-2010, 09:51 ET Jun-01-2010

Put at Ramp 5P Sunday morning with ETA set for June 1st. No movement since. A lot of people may end up going through much the same experience, barring a lucky few. I really think there's nothing going on hold wise right now, maybe on a few cars, but to me I just think they don't have the shipping capacity to get through the huge back log they were left with quickly.
