I am trying to have 3.73 gears installed on my 2010 Mustang GT. I called my local Ford dealer and they told me I would need a new Carrier to replace my 3.31's with 3.73's. They quoted me $2500 for parts and labor. Everything I have read tells me that I only need the gear, pinion and new bearing. Can anyone confirm the new carrier requirement?

 

I would not go to the dealer. I would find a local pro shop.
