Need some help deciding on gears for my auto.
3:73 OR 4:10 what do you guys think?
It's not my daily driver but it may become later. I do a lot of highway driving but really don't care about the motor noise. How much MPG will is lose with the 4:10 compare to the 3:15 I have right now. I'm leaning towards to 4:10 but would like some input.
I have a shop that will be doing the instal They charging $485+tx
I will also be welding my axle shaft the same time for around $200+tx
Are those decent price's?

Do you plan on installing FI? If so 3:73 and if not 4:10. I have run 4:10 on both and 1st gear doesn't really have a use never run a auto so others can pitch in

If you're a 5.0, your auto does not need gears! The first 2 tranny gears are extremely steep. The 3.15's are plenty for the rear. Get a good quality tune with a Circle D converter and the car will run low to mid 11's on drag radials. Without the converter you can still run high 11's to low 12's depending on conditions.
I had 3.15 gearing and recently changed to 3.73 so I can't comment on the 4.10. But what I can say, In my opinion, the 3.73 has made my car SO much more fun to drive. The 3.15 was boring. It took too long to wind up.
I think I will get the 3.73, But I'm Still not sure.
Ahhhh too bad, I have brand new in box 373's I would have let go for a c note.
