I thought the same thing too with my 08 when down in the valley. I too had an older car that was converted to the new refrigerant and it seemed colder - constantly colder air out the vents.
Whereas the Bullitt seems to only get so cold and would take longer to get the cabin comfortable on really hot days - esp if I was in and out of a few stores.
So I wonder if there is more of an internal thermostat type control (besides the dash adjustment) that perhaps has to do with mileage numbers??

Not sure what the deal is. Don't get me wrong, you can get it comfortable, even down here in our heat, but it seems you're right on the verge of being hot where you want to turn it down more.
When its really freakin' hot, I have to keep the temp display in the low 70s (mine has the nav with separate passenger/driver controls) to feel cool. In the Explorer I very rarely have it below 76, usually keep it on 78 and am comfortable, and its a much larger vehicle with more area to cool inside.

Does anyone use AC only and then switch to recirc? I thought that was the recommended way but on my 03 ram 1500 the dang recirc door broke lol
Just wondering what yalls opinion was on the correct way to cool the mustang

Bump. 26k on my 2012 GT and the compressor has a major leak. Took it in as it was blowing 80*F air out of the drivers side vents (strangely passenger side was 60*F) and they said it was almost totally out of refrigerant.
They refilled it with uv dye refrig to see where the leak was from and discovered it at the compressor.
Literally less than 1 month after the car is out of warranty cutting me a break though at ONLY $1100 to replace it.
Like Rather b blown noted though, this car has never truly dished out COLD ac here in alabama. simply adequate. My 15 year old volvo will turn the car into a meat locker but since day 1 of rolling off the production line, the mustang was simply cool. Pretty much would ALWAYS have to run the AC with the max ac engaged. If I turned that off but still had the AC button on, the air temp would rise dramatically for some reason.
The V6 2014 mustang loaner I'm in doesn't have this problem and the 2013 fusion my wife and I rented recently did not have that problem and the 2012 focus I rented last year did not have this problem. The air temp stayed COLD even when the max AC was not engaged.

I noticed yesterday on just an 80 degree day and cruising at 50 mph that the AC is adequate, but definitely not as cold as other late model/new cars. Pretty disappointing, it's not like the car doesn't have the power to spare to drive a unit that can freeze you out. Definitely need to keep it on a higher setting for the majority of the drive, and on recirculation. Recirc does help a lot - much easier to recycle the cool air in the car than to try to cool down hot outside air, but still not as cold as our other cars.

fwiw, last week coming up I5 at 70-75 I had to turn the (outside) A/C temp down about 25% from maximum. This was through 110* Red Bluff.
The only time I notice it's lacking is it takes longer than my other car, after say leaving a store and then in traffic, to get it back up to temp - even with recirc.
But freeway is great.
