i have a 2014 on order with the nav unit. just wondering if they are all the same from prior years or if any improvements have been made through the years? My wife has a 2011 fusion with nav, when i test drove a new mustang with one, they seemed the same, are they all the same? Would it have the newest maps on it when it is delivered though? Wondering why they dont put the speed limits or your speed on the display like the garmin dash units do?

is it hard to go from having a garmin on the dash for years in your direct line of sight to having it in the center and lower so you have to look away to see it?

 

I have nav on mine and I never even use it. Its so much easier to use my phone and have it play through the speakers. I bought mine CPO and got a deal cheaper than a lot of the base mustangs I saw from other dealers though.

 

Pretty sure there is no difference from 13 to 14. I use mine all the time. Works great.

 

The latest version map and software update, which yours should have as delivered, does include speed limits posted on the screen.

 

My 2012 shows the speed limits .. but the speed limit only displays when navigating. If you just want to look at map to see roads and traffic ... the speed limit will not display. That is pretty stupid but the way Ford programmed it.

On my 2008 there are no speed limits posted even with the latest map installed, but that is the pre-Sync nav. However, my brother-in-laws 2010 started showing the speed limits after he upgraded to the latest map and software this winter. I know they show when navigating, I don't know about other times.

 

My 2011 delivered in May 2010 with original maps show the speed limits when being used. Just saying....

 

Yes the original 2011+ without any map update shows speed limits on major roads when navigating. The update expands the roads shown with speed limits AND show them all while driving around with no navigation route programmed.
