I just purchased a 2014 Mustang GT and it has a Track-Package option. What is a Track Package option? Thank you

"This special factory-installed package, which cost just under $1,500, was available for Mustang GT models equipped with manual transmissions.

Track Pack offered a number of features that enhanced the Mustang’s performance and resulted in a smoother, more stable ride. These included a 3.73 axle that made the vehicle more responsive, along with carbon-fiber clutch plates that allowed for harder driving.

Front and rear stabilizer bars were also added, along with completely retuned shocks and struts. The package also included high-performing Pirelli Summer tires that enhanced the vehicle’s handling and control. And with the inclusion of specially recalibrated traction control, anti-lock brakes and performance front and rear brake pads, Track Pack increased the stopping power of the vehicle."

 

The Track Pack option was actually $2495 in '13-'14, it's one of the only 2 options on my car, the other being the Recaro seats.

The Track Pack included the Boss302 rear axle assembly, fully painted black, with the 3.73 ratio, Torsen limited-slip diff and finned aluminum cover. Also included was the Boss302 radiator, Boss302 oil cooler, special Advancetrac calibration, different front brake pads ("high-friction" supposedly), and the brakes and wheels were the Brembo package items, front 14" rotors with 4-piston calipers, and 19x9 Brembo-style wheels with Pirelli 255/40/19 summer tires.
As a last item, the Track Pack cars also got spec'd as needing 5w50 full synthetic oil, and the oil capacity is 8.5 qts instead of 8.0 qts on the regular GT's.

My car has most of that stuff and it's an automatic.

 

If it's an auto then it doesn't have the Torsen-equipped fully-painted rear axle, the 3.73 rear gears, the Boss radiator, the Boss oil cooler, and whatever special programming the Advancetrac gets when the car has the Track Pack.

But OK, you don't get to work out your left left in traffic.

Yay.

 

With the Brembo package I do get the special programming for the Advancetrac. I wish I had the Torsen.

 

If I remember correctly, Track Pack was offered on the Auto in 2013. At least I remember seeing it as an option when I ordered mine (although I didn't get Track Pack, almost did). However, mine is an early-2013 delivered in May 2012.

 

That was the Brembo package was offered in an Automatic right along with the V6 Performance package, both were Manual trans only in the 11-12's
Right out of the 2013 brochure,
They started the Autos in the Brembos Job 2 I do believe.

 

I remember it saying "Track Pack",but then again, I was looking at an early order sheet, not the final printed brochure. However, I could have misread it as well.

Also, I didn't see it listed above, but I remember the Track Pack also came with stiffer springs and sway bars, not just AdvanceTrack Tuning.
