Ah, but then they would have to do some hard work of creating a new car, whereas with this they can just Photoshop existing stuff.

 

No doubt an April fools joke. Too much of a radical change for one MY before the redesigned 50th.

 

It's a joke, they do it every year, and did you see the "diesel powered option" yeah right. Unless its a 6.7l power stroke fords not selling a car diesel here at least.

It's a bad April Fool's Day joke. It would be nice if Ford brought back a 4 door RWD sedan for Police Departments and for those who miss the Crown Victoria (definitely do not name it a Mustang....Torino could work).

One would think with fleet sales to Law Enforcement, a few domestic 4 door sedan sales, a possible Lincoln variant, an Australian Falcon....along with Mustang sales.....Ford would be able to make quite a profit on a RWD platform.

Ok, I just might like it. My son is 85 lbs, but in a couple of years he won't be. Call it a falcon if you like, but the idea of a 400 hp 4 door RWD ford with solid handling characteristics isn't something that turns me off.

I find myself think American version of a BMW 3 series with more attitude and larger testes. Looking at the pics I do see some charger, but I think the charger is a pretty **** good looking American muscle car with room for 4.

So I'm in the minority, but I can see a place for this. Now, I'm not entirely sure I'd sign off on calling it a mustang

Watch what you wish for . If Ford brought something like that Falcon over here and it sold well it could also be trouble for the Mustang.

I know it might sound unheard of but if a car like the above Aussie Falcon were to cut into Mustang sales it might force Ford to position the Mustang further upscale and charge more for it so they can justify the lower sales figures. Imagine a Mustang lineup that included only the Boss and Shelby.

I believe if Ford in the USA were to introduce a 4 door RWD auto into their lineup it would most likely be a Lincoln. An EcoBoost V6, 5.0L, and possibly supercharged 5.8L to compete with Cadillac's CTS and CTS-V.

It would be really cool to see a Lincoln 2 door coupe with a Shelby drivetrain to compete directly with Cadillac's CTS-V Coupe. It would be out of my price range for sure but might still be a signature car for Lincoln that could compete with BMW and Mercedes too.
