Any reason for the black plastic around the rear plate?? Rear lights look good

Clearly the black plastic around the license plate is there as filler for the required additional width in the indent to accommodate the Euro plates. I bet this Mustang will be sold in Europe/Australia as is...and those cars will probably have smaller filler plates for that area.

Anyone else notice the word "CONVERTIBLE" on the trunk emblem of the V6, under the tri-bar pony. Maybe they also have one that says "COUPE".

My 11 says "convertible" on the trunk emblem as well. That's not new. I think it's silly..as if you can't tell it's a vert by looking at it.

I don't like how the plastic decklid cover is already scratched up. I'm still withholding judgement on the rear lights until I see them in person, but right now first thing I would do is tint the inside lenses so they aren't clear-looking.

I think the tail lights are a huge improvement. I guess the so called "haters" won the day. Ford finally listened and got rid of those ugly 2010-2012 tails.

One big thing I found missing is the back up lights. Where are they?

Backup lights...in the center of the red square...they change from red to white based on activity....

Funny how most (if my memory is still working) complained about the angling of the 10-12 tail lights when first introduced....just as I did. Now, that complaint seems to have gone away due to a lens change, even though the angle is still there.

And, just for the record, I am not overly excited about the tail lights or the fact that all the models look alike in the front.....

I agree with you Pete about the angle of the lights. On the pics they look pretty cool. In person might be a whole different story. Wont know will I see them myself, but I will give the credit for trying. Actually, when I saw them they kinda reminded me of the big Mustang lights (72-73, etc) with that rope effect around them. I'll bet those are reflectors so they will look pretty cool at night.

2011 GT/CS

I really do not like the headlights on the 2013. Hopefully they look better in person. Maybe it's just me.
