2013 Mustang Spare (Wallet) Key
Hello, Hey, does anyone know of a spare wallet key for the 2013 mustangs. I don't think Ford has them. Maybe aftermarket.
With my other car which I had for a while now I have and used MANY times in an emergency a spare thin plastic key with micro chip that the dealer sells for around $40. OK, it's a Bimmer. All it does is open the doors, trunk manually and of course start the car. It fits right in my wallet and you never even know it's there until that dreaded day you lose or leave you key inside the locked car. It sure does give you peace of mind knowing it's always there right in you wallet where I also keep my house key spares too.
Thank guys and gals,

Not sure you can do this with a PATS type system (Passive anti theft system). The key fob has a transmitter in the head of the key that transmits a code to the transeiver, located as a ring around the inner plastic area of the ingnition switch.
Perhaps this transmitter chip is super thin and could be incorporated within a plastic thin key that fits in your wallet like a credit card.
For your bimmer, did you still, have to have the original key in your pocket? My wifes bimmer allows her to start the car without a key (push putton start). She only has to keep the key/fob close to the car.
I drove her in this car to her friends house awhile back, dropped her off, and started for home. Within about 5 seconds, the info center screen started flashing a warning that the car "lost communications" with the key. What this meant was if I shut the car off, it was not going to restart. Luckily there was a second key at home!

I just got one of those wireless keyless entry pads and stuck it on the inside of my gas door. never getting locked out of my car. I keep a spare ingition key hidden in the car in case I ever do lose my keys in the middle of nowhere.

Red key, black key, blue in the face posts, red with anger. What a pain to own a Boss and need a key....
