2013 mustang rear sensing package

I assumed when I ordered my car that it would have the rear view sensor for backing up in the mirror as most other cars do. Does this not come with the rear sensing and security packages in the Canadian 2013 mustang gt's??

Bredo, I'm not sure about Canada, but the reverse camera is a seperate option in the U.S. Option cost for it in the U.S. is $385. It doesn't come with anything else. I would call your dealer immediately. If it's still early in the order process he may be able to make a change if you need.

There are two different systems available... the backup sensors and the rear view camera. The camera displays in the mirror unless you also get the navigation system in which case it displays on the nav screen. The backup sensors have no display, just a beep and an indicator light. Both systems are optional equipment.

Don't know about an indicator light, mine just says like "rear sensing" or whatever in the message center.

Mine beeps and has the message come up for on/off, and sometimes gets stuck when I'm in 1-6.

Sorry, I've never actually seen the Mustang version. I based that comment on other makes and models that I've seen. As others have said, the Mustang apparently displays a message in the message center.

I placed my order for my car on 5/15, and I thought when I was building my ride that I had when I selected comfort package, it also include the reverse sensing and security pack. I am looking at my window sticker and I don't see that on there. Also now when I go to the Ford site it does NOT combine the security and reverse sensing with the comfort package. It looks like as if they are now individual options as it was recently changed?

Is there any way to find out?

That's exactly what happened to me as well. I ordered the Comfort package and it to originally was included but like you said shows separate.

What gives? I don't want to have to pay extra now to get that installed... What did you do?

Called my dealer and they said it's always been a separate option. So the Ford website screwed up in May but no way to prove it really. Oh well..

Dealer said it's a $425 option for the backup sensors.. not sure if it's worth it. Although the wife will be driving my car from time to time so I think I may have no choice lol.

My wife will never be driving my Mustang, she never drove the last one either. So I know its a option I can live without.

I like the rear sensing a lot, works really well. Wish the rear sensing on our trucks at work worked as well.

vii, I know of what you speak. The Mustang is the Wifey's car. I made sure to order the reverse sensing, and the camera.

Isn't having both rather redundant? (although I don't know your wife so maybe not)

Really it is in some instances. However, due to an accident many years back she can't turn her head completely to the right. But it's all good, and all these new fangled gadgets help out.

Anyone know if you install this at a dealer do they drill the rear sensors into the bumper or they install a new bumper with the sensors?

Are the sensors color matched to the car, or are they just black?

mine came with the sensors from the factory. They are color matched so I assume dealer install would be also. I'd guess they drill into the bumper as well, can't see 425 option including a new bumper.
