2013 Mustang Inner Tie Rods multiple part numbers
Does any one know why there are 3 part numbers of inner tie rods for 2013 mustang? They are classified for different wheel size 17" 18" and 19". Why would they be different? The outer tie rod end is the same for all so its not the diameter of the rod.

It is the steering stops that come with the rods. As you go up in wheel size, you need to have less end-to-end lock for the steering so you don't wind up rubbing things. So they include bigger and bigger steering stops that go on the rods to prevent the wheels from turning in (out?) so much.
17 inch, the white plastic part.
18 inch, the gray plastic part.
19 inch, blue plastic part.
See how each stop gets 'taller'?
For what it's worth, on my '06 GT I didn't bother with getting the recommended stops put on the rods because it doesn't rub, and I went from 17x8s to 18x9.5s. Not an issue. Then again, I didn't go with the 255/45 or 285/40, but with 275/40, so they're not as tall, and may be part of why it doesn't rub.
By the way, there're other tie rods available that don't bother with all that. You don't get a new boot, and you reuse your old stops with those. No need to buy the Motorcraft ones unless you just would rather. They'll all work for all applications, just if your wheels can rub, the 19" might be the way to go...

So since I have 20" wheels I should probably at least get the one with 19" stop.
I do see many aftermarket ones out there with one size fits all deal.
I guess i have to to see if my wheels are rubbing... It hasn't even occurred to me... nor have I noticed anything.

yeah the 19" will work perfect for 20s if you get any less then the wheel might rub on the fender liner. I went from 17" to 18" no rub, but then when I went to 19" they rubbed so I needed the new tie rod with the 19" stops.
