2013 mustang gt rear end noise

Have 66k miles

Just bought car, this noise only happens when you first turn on after sitting for a while.

Someone told me it may be the wrong axle fluid used when fixing one of the seals.

What's is this noise?

Does it happen after you've been driving for a bit and only when you turn? I had something similar on my 2000 and it was the clutch packs.

Happens when the car hasn't moved for a while and I first start turning it.

Then it goes away until it sits again

Ok. When I ran into the noise on my car it was the opposite. Car was fine. Drive it for a bit on the highway and then turning would result in a similar noise to your issue.

I don't really know; but it could be that they left out the limited slip friction modifier when they changed the diff fluid. You could try adding a tube of it; then do a few tight figure-eights in a parking lot to work it in to the clutch packs. If that makes it go away, then that was it. . . if it doesn't, then it wasn't.

Let the car sit, then jack it up so the rear wheels are off the ground and while your under it have someone put it in gear. This way you'll be sure its the rear.

Do you always use the parking brake?
If so, try leaving it off next time and see if the noise is still there.
If not, then it's got something to do with the brakes.
Did you recently have rear brake service done?
Could simply be cheap pads sticking to the rotors
